“Perfect family room for our stopover in a beautiful location!”

The host, Durand, was very friendly and welcoming & accommodated our late arrival. He spoke excellent English which was very helpful for us and was happy to share about the property, grounds and horses. The location is beautiful as is the property itself! Excellent shutters on the windows kept the rooms dark and given the rural location it was quiet and made for a great night's sleep. Having plenty of secure parking is definitely a major plus. The pony's surrounding the property were a delight for our horse mad daughter.

Absolutely loved staying here. The owners were friendly and helpful even letting me put my motorbike in their shed. It was clean and tidy and comfortable and homely. A beautiful setting with the frogs in the pond singing you to sleep.

The location is perfect in the middle of a beautiful landscape. The Shetland ponies are lovely. The house is not far from the local supermarket on foot and a few minutes from Forges-les-Eaux. There are excellent walks around the lakes, in the town, and in the forest.

The property was as a nice old house which was very quiet and relatively close to the town and its facilities.

“A scrupulously clean rural farmhouse that felt safe for a solo female traveller”

A beautiful old half timbered farmhouse in the depths of rural France, near Rouen, and just over two hours from the Eurotunnel terminal so a very useful stopover the night before a mid morning Shuttle and long car journey in England the next day. Every inch of my car was rammed full of bags and boxes, which meant I didn’t want to stay in/park at a central city hotel overnight. Even with little or no passing traffic in this rural location, I appreciated the secure gates to the drive to the property which were shut overnight, and being able to park immediately outside the front door. The owner is very welcoming and helpful, responds quickly to messages, and was extremely understanding about my very delayed late night arrival (unexpected car troubles.) As a solo female traveller, I felt very safe and secure and would recommend this property to others. There are also tiny ponies in the fields around the farm which are a joy to watch! Overall, I thought it was very good value - the same price as a soulless, grim roadside motel, and obviously no charge for parking.
