The place to meet people in Batu Karas Djawo House is a great spot if you want a social and easygoing stay in Batu Karas. The facilities are basic, but everything you really need is there, including good hot showers. What makes this place stand out is the atmosphere and the people. It’s a great place to meet other travelers and connect with foreigners passing through the area. A special mention to Hessan, the manager — always relaxed, welcoming, and down to do something fun. He gives great tips on where to go and what to do around Batu Karas, which makes the experience much better. Definitely recommended if you value people and atmosphere over luxury.

A place that feels like home. The staff were kind and welcoming, the hostel was clean, and the location was good, with cafés, restaurants, and the beach all within walking distance.

It's a really cool place to stay in Batukaras and easily the best price for someone visiting alone. The building has a very traditional feel and looks out to some rice fields, it takes 10-15 minutes to walk to the main surf spot. Staff were very social and accommodating. The showers even have heated water which was a nice surprise.

The people here are really friendly and kind, make me wanna extend the vacation. The chef’s cooking was excellent, and the nasi goren was absolutely delicious! Also, the bed was very comfortable. Each guest had their own small electric fan, and there was hot water available for showering. The place makes me feel relaxed and peaceful. I will definitely come back again next time.

This hostel has a really local style, so don’t expect anything super modern or western. But it’s got everything you need — hot showers, AC, and a comfy place to chill. The staff are super friendly and always happy to help with tips and recommendations. It’s right by the rice fields and just a few steps from the beach. Such a nice spot to relax and take it easy.

The hostel is simple, but clean and the incredible views of the rice fields and the great staff more than make up for it. It's super social and easy to meet people. They will help you to organize anything you want like busses, surf lessons or a bike. I booked 2 nights and stayed 9

D'jarwo is a small place but super chill and peaceful. Sometimes a calm atmosphere and sometimes more lively, depends who stay there. It's super easy to connect with people, playing guitare, chess or card or just watching the sunset. You are just in front of a great surf spot. Beds are comfortable, I slept very well. Hesa is the best, thank you for everything.
