“Very disappointing”

We were never told and not on the Booking site that the owners dogs lived inside the accomodation. As soon as we walked in all you could smell was dog. The owner was attempting to obviously spray scent to cover the dog smell. As an asthmatic we could not stay so we went elsewhere. Also on arrival we were told another couple had taken our booked room so we were told “I will put you in here” . Sorry but this is very unprofessional and Booking should take some responsibility for the dogs living in the accomodation as we would never have booked if we new dogs were living in the house.

What makes this beautiful place so special is the hostess Elaine. You start with a warm welcome and end saying farewell to a friend. Such a lovely kind lady.. genuinely loves her guests and show such a interest in them. And in-between you get the most wonderful of home cooked breakfasts. A beautiful experience all in all.

Everything was fabulous- country garden setting, huge room, breakfast etc. etc. Elaine is devine! Felt like we had known her for years - she couldn’t do enough for you (even cooking a delicious breakfast when we had slept in late!) I hope we have the opportunity to go back to Bathurst - Hawk’s Bed & Breakfast will certainly be our accomodation choice. Thank you Elaine!

Cooked breakfast both mornings was fantastic! Lots of variety and by far the best I've ever had at a BnB. Very peaceful spot. My room was spacious with a lovely view of the manicured gardens. Our Hostess was friendly and great to chat to on the verandah or over breakfast. A really relaxing spot with all the creature comforts for a peaceful break. The two resident fluffy dogs are very cute!
