“EXCEPTIONAL in every way! Heaven on earth!”
We fell in love with the small settlement of Simon near Barsac. The Gite is a small but perfectly formed base for exploring the beautiful vineyards which surround the property. We walked each morning to a fantastic local Boulangerie in Barsac, got a train to Bordeaux from the local train station (just a 12 minute walk away) and also got to visit the local vineyard in the village - chateau Simon is incredible! The Gite was perfect for us (a couple). It was super hot during our stay (40 degrees) but the really efficient air conditioning, outside fan in the shaded area and the pool kept us really comfortable. The bed was super comfy with fantastic blinds - we slept really well. The lounge, kitchen and bathroom were all perfect for our week long stay. We loved being in the garden and pool right next the vineyard, it was so peaceful. Paul and Kathy were lovely hosts - really good communicators, kind and helpful. They live next door, but we did not feel that our peace or privacy was affected at all. 100% going to go back - and ordering some Chateau Simon wine for delivery in the UK.
