The stay has the feel like you’re on a farm in the countryside, which you are, but with the convenience of being in a quaint village with all the amenities and dining venues just minutes drive away. The units are well-equipped for an overnight or longer stay. The hosts are terrific — very accommodating and kindly gave us the use of a second unit which wasn’t occupied.

Convenient and peaceful setting, on a working farm, but walking distance or a short drive from town. Very friendly and helpful hosts. Well equipped for a self-catering break.

Idyllic comfort, serenity and hospitality! Ansie cottage offered all we needed. Ideal location, beautiful environment. Scrumptious food at Blue Cow coffee shop. One night was not enough. It's the perfect place to unwind for a few days and feed your soul.

Beautiful place and surrounding area. The rooms were just lovely. The owner had the hot tub heated for our arrival and we enjoyed it. Just loved the serenity there.

A lovely quaint little cottage in a beautiful location. Exactly what we were hoping for. Loved all the extra thoughtful things that were provided - salt and pepper etc.

The room was spacious enough, with most things needed in the kitchen & bathroom. Gorgeous, friendly cat welcomed us.

Loved the location, safe and felt very comfortable. The outdoor jacuzzi / hot tub was not clean but did not impact our stay. Will certainly stay again.

We loved the fact that Bertus was there to meet us when we arrived and took the time to show us around his farm. The accommodation was perfect for our one night stay, and breakfast at the Blue Cow Coffee shop was delicious.

“Great break in a beautiful part of the country”

We booked a couple of nights after having been here 2 years ago. We like the relaxed atmosphere and wanted to explore Barrydale a bit more. Our host Bertus was very helpful and attended to all our needs and questions.

“Charming, rustic stay”

This is charming, rustic accommodation set on a working farm with a beautiful garden. The host and staff were welcoming, friendly and hospitable and we loved the attention we got from the dogs and cat. The hot tub was relaxing on a cold, star-lit evening and I loved seeing the baby swallows warming up on the rooves in the morning sunshine with their parents. The Blue Cow barn by the Waterfront serves their speciality Chicken Cheesecake which I can heartily recommend.

I had a peaceful and comfortable stay on this beautiful farm. A real home away from home. The accomodation was spotless clean, friendly staff and a great host. The coffee shop is a massive bonus!

Good value for money. We arrived a little late to explore more on the farm but will be back.

We had a real farmstyle stay literally 500m from the main town.. Everything was clean and neat. There was milk in the fridge. Very safe parking.Thanks Bertus for a wonderful stay!!
