“A good stay, very nice owner.”

A shoutout to the front desk/owner(?) lady who accommodated my annoying requests with a smile. I booked tours through the hostel prior to my arrival, and decided to change it to another tour the day before. I was so happy when the lady said ok to changing it for me. After the tour on my second day, I wanted to cancel one of the two tours the day after. Again, the lady agreed so easily. I am so thankful to her. The breakfast was light but was decent enough.

“Great value hostel run by wonderful people”

The couple who run the hostel are such warm and wonderful people. They are the magic ingredient that made our stay memorable, even though we could only communicate via Google translate. We stayed for 3 nights in a private triple room. The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, the toilet and shower worked fine and most importantly the aircon worked really well and silently. Breakfast was very efficiently served in the morning and was good. Anytime we had a query or slight issue it was promptly addressed. Location wise, there is a huge supermarket quite close which is really useful (although note that there are no kitchen facilities at the hostel), plus some restaurants. It is about a 10 min walk into the main town centre. We thought this hostel offers incredible value for money. While we didn't book any tours via the hostel because we'd already booked with a company, attached is a photo of some of the list of tours from our check-in form as at June 2025.

“The place is ok, but not quite justifying the very high rating on booking.com”

Not sure why the reviews are so high, the place is ok, really just a bed for the night before lencois, but nothing special and not really a 9.4 rating which is was at the time of writing. Everyone says the lady who works there is super helpful, but she couldn't speak English so she couldn't help with much, but she can put you in contact with the french guy who organise the lencois tours

“Super friendly hostel”

Lovely friendly hosts who are very helpful and go out of their way to ensure you have the best stay. Also clean rooms with sheets & towels. Can book amazing tours with them and delicous breakfast every morning. Worth your while staying here.🙂

“Great stay”

We had a great stay. Cute little hostel not far walk from town. The owner communicates really well and we had everything we needed during our stay. You can organise tours with her too, we did Atins and also 2 half day lagao which were all definitely worth it

“The most careful host we ever met”

Room was clean, hot water, wi fi, air conditioner works good, location is near to supermarkets, restaurants and other facilities. Host is very kind and helped us a lot with the transfer and all questions. She cooked lovely breakfast.

We had an amazing stay and really enjoyed ourselves. The hosts went over and above for us, were super friendly, caring and communicative. Would highly recommend.

I stayed in a private double room, it is quite small but was perfectly clean and with air conditioning, that is a must have in Barreirinhas. Dona Cineide was really helpful with everything I needed. She booked all the tours for me and gave me advice for the transfer from and to São Luís. The breakfast was really nice, with many good things to eat. The hostel is very close to the river where all the restaurants and pubs are. You can walk there in less than 10 minutes and the area is safe.

A Very nice place with friendly people and a lot of exotic plants everywhere. I Stayed 5 nights and i like it very much. Good location, good breakfast!

“Amazing stay in Lençois”

The hosts were just incredible! The room was lovely and clean, and the breakfast provided was tasty and plentiful. They helped to arrange all the tours and transfers needed and were very responsive with all the questions and requests I had, not Barreirinhas! You really are in great hands here ☺️ Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Lençois!

“Feel welcomed in Barreirinhas”

Cineide and Gaspar are just amazing hosts that make everything possible to makenyou feel welcome and safe. Cineide can organize all the tours you wish for around the Lençois Maranhenses to very good prices. The hostel is clean, breakfast is good and the people are very nice. I just loved staying there and will surely stay there again, if I ever cone back to Barreirinhas.

The stay in the hostel was perfect for me that I travelled alone. Even though there wasn't a lot of people I felt comfortable. The host take good care of you, organize the tours for you if you want. It is a 10 minutes walk to the restaurants and shops, but a calm area, so that it is safe to walk around. The rooms are very easy but clean and have an air condition.

The hosts were so nice and helpful! Even though we arrived late in the evening due, she helped us arranging a tour to the national park the next morning. Can definitely recommend.
