Overview
Set in a Renaissance palace, La Loggia lies in the Medieval town of Barisciano, on the edge of Gran Sasso National Park. Its unique rooms are filled with antique furniture. The Palazzo's rooms all feature exposed wooden beams with parquet or terracotta floors and views of the surrounding countryside. Their fully equipped bathrooms have colourful tiles and candles. Some rooms have a separate dining area with stone fireplace, others offers a four-poster bed. Breakfast includes local cold meats, fresh bread and homemade cakes. It is served daily in the Loggia's atmospheric breakfast room with its 13th century archway. The residence is set in a large garden including sun terraces with tables and chairs. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the building. La Loggia provides a free shuttle service to L'Aquila Train Station, 15 km away. Transport to Airports in Pescara and Rome can be arranged upon request, and the Regno dei Mazzamurelli theme park is a 10-minute drive away.

“Gorgeous, peaceful,loved it.”
Our favourite stay in Italy. Adriano is a great host. The accommodation is better than in the photos, it is stunning. Rooms are large, clean and comfortable. Loved it here, so peaceful.

The room did not have windows that could open and therefore the room not only looked but also smelled of old furniture. Modern comfort was totally absent. Overpriced and oversold. We ledt early.

“Palazzo La Loggia: A Mountain Retreat - The Good and the Not-So-Good”
Very good breakfast: One of the standout features of my stay was the delicious breakfast served each morning. The variety of freshly baked pastries, local cheeses, and aromatic coffee made for an excellent start to my day. The friendly staff even accommodated my dietary restrictions, ensuring I had a satisfying meal every morning. Nice walk in the mountains: If you're a nature enthusiast like me, you'll appreciate the proximity of Palazzo La Loggia to some fantastic hiking trails. The hotel's location is perfect for those looking to explore the natural beauty of the surrounding mountains. The concierge was helpful in providing maps and recommendations for the best trails, making my hikes truly enjoyable. Nice staying: The charm of the Palazzo La Loggia is undeniable. The historic building exudes character, and the cozy, rustic decor in my room created a warm and inviting atmosphere. It was a peaceful retreat after a day of exploring the scenic landscapes.

“Perfect base for visiting Gran Sasso National Park.”
Beautifully kept building with an immaculate garden. Lovely buffet choice for breakfast, including homemade cakes and tarts. No need for air conditioning as the rooms have terracotta floors and solid stone walls to keep out the summer heat.
