Set on a hillside overlooking the medieval town of Barga, Renaissance Tuscany Il Ciocco Resort & Spa features an outdoor pool and modern spa. Surrounded by a 600 hectare estate, it offers stylish rooms and gym. Rooms have modern décor and feature linen sheets and air conditioning. Each one features an LCD TV, WiFi, and a minibar. Breakfast is buffet style and the hotel restaurant serves traditional Italian cuisine, which can be enjoyed out on the terrace in good weather. I had an issue with my car in a remote location in the mountains, the hotel staff arranged a taxi and auto mechanic to fix my very exotic vintage vehicle.. Incredible effort on their part, much appreciated from our side!

We were at the hotel in early November and at night it got a little warm in the room. Unfortunately the hotel had turned off its air conditioning and we were not able to open our windows because stink bugs came into the room. Otherwise the hotel was excellent.

“Lovely hotel with magnificent views and facilities and dining experiences- just needs to update mattress and review thei”
We booked a suite which was spacious and well appointed. Our stay was during hot weather and we loved the pool as it was great for relaxing and cooling off. Meals were very good. We had breakfast, a few lunches and one dinner. The wait staff were attentive and friendly.

A shuttle bus to and from the station and into local towns Barga in particular) would have been welcomed. Your taxis were far too expensive.
