We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Didus Homestay and would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting Banyuwangi. The bungalows are incredibly charming, beautifully decorated with wood and thoughtful details that create a warm and cozy atmosphere. Everything was spotless, well-maintained, and clearly cared for with great attention. The outdoor area is fantastic. The gardens are lovely, the pool is beautiful and inviting, and there are plenty of comfortable spaces to relax, unwind, and meet fellow travelers. It's the kind of place where you end up wanting to spend more time than you originally planned. Breakfast deserves a special mention. Every meal was delicious, freshly prepared, and clearly made with care. You can really feel the dedication and hospitality in every detail. What truly made our stay unforgettable, however, was the incredible team. Everyone was exceptionally kind, welcoming, and genuinely interested in making our experience special. During our stay, they invited us to join them for dinner during a local village festival, giving us the opportunity to experience a very authentic part of local culture. They even arranged seats for us to watch a traditional Seblang dance performance, which became one of the highlights of our time in East Java. We also booked both of our tours through the homestay—the Ijen Volcano trek and the Menjangan Island excursion—and we were extremely happy with both experiences. The tours were private, very well organized, and conducted with excellent guides and staff. Everyone was professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and always focused on safety while ensuring we had a great time. We would absolutely recommend arranging these tours through Didus Homestay, as everything was handled smoothly and exceeded our expectations. The location is slightly outside the city center, but we actually saw that as a positive.

“The best stay in Java!”

The best stay in Java! I love the artistic atmosphere and chill vibes of Homestay. The receptionist was super nice and helpful with everything. The Pondok Cottages are so cute amazing and I loved the open roofless bathroom. Bed was so comfy and bedsheets, towels were clean. I like small details like flowers, the wastless glass bottle with filtered water. I enjoyed so much resting in the patio and swimming pool. Location near the trian station is great. Totally worth it and I would love to return one day.

“Nice place to stay”

The bed was very comfy. The room was clean and pre-chilled before check-in. The garden area was nice. The noise was quite okay. The breakfast was tasty and plentiful. We ordered take away food from reception and even though it took a while, it was very good. The shared kitchen space was very convenient. We booked the Mount Ijen tour with them, and it was a great experience.

“A hidden gem and a home from home”

This homestay is so cute and has such a lovely welcoming vibe. We loved the layout and surroundings and it was nice to be slightly out of the city. The cabin itself had aircon and was very comfortable and clean. You can easily organise tours and get food from here. The owners were really lovely and kind and helped us out with information before we got to the homestay - they are also able to assist with transfers if needed.

We did not stay the night. Besides that everything looked very nice, the room was superb. Staff was friendly, lovely surroundings, nice pool.

This is simply the loveliest location, with very thoughtful consideration given to the layout of the space, the rooms themselves, and some really lovely public spaces, to relax, eat, read or talk with other people. I will come back to Didu’s the next time I pass through Banyuwangi.

Nice place to head out to mount Ijen. Really friendly staff, the shared kitchen and hang out area where super relaxing! The bungelows are cute. Definately recommed going here!

Spotlessly clean and really funky, creative vibe.. Believe all the good reviews because this is a really cool place and has a really laid back natural ambience that is now being lost with all the modern concrete accommodation being built in many parts of Indonesia.. Everything is maintained and works well and the breakfast is great..

“Great stay at Didu's homestay!”

Didu's homestay is a beautiful and calm place. The rooms were clean and comfy, the breakfast was good. The staff was friendly and helpful, they organised a pick up from the ferry, the Ijen tour (amazing!) and a taxi to the train station (it is walkable distance I think but we had suitcases). The whole experience was great and easy.

The staff were so so helpful from before the stay, I exchanged a number of messages with them and they gave lots of tips and advice. It felt like they tried to make the place as welcoming as possible all the time, lots of little touches such as flower decorations.
