Hostel atmosphere was good. Lots of info for people to come together and meet new people and do activities, if you don't know what to do. The first two nights in one booking went well. Staff were friendly and answered questions. Fridges, freezers and food storage and sharing all for the people were very good.

Good hostel but extremely expensive as everything in Banff. We got a rate of around 100 US for a room without shower and were told by nice reception team that was a extremely good deal. Buildings are well manteined, clean enough, and they offer free bus pas in Banff, so you do not need to live the parking nightmare Banff is. Well managed.

The location is beautiful! The room was nice and clean. The staff were helpful and common areas had great views!

The location is great and it has a lot of potential. Great Cafe, well connected to town, and free bus tickets #1,2,6! They organize some events and you can have fun and meet other people! They give free bear spray for your stay!

Not "not I didn't like", but In hhpe there's a curtain, just to cover the face/head while the guest is sleeping..

I stayed for 3 nights, and I couldn’t have made a better decision! The staff was very nice, and there were plenty of activities to join, such as hikes and evening events. I definitely made the right decision.

I can’t say enough good about the HI Banff alpine centre. What makes this place AMAZING is the young adults who work there :) Though I’m hardly “a youth” I stayed at the hostel because it was affordable and also I wanted to stay slightly out of town as I prefer a quieter vibe. The location was absolutely perfect for me in that regard. Walking into town was a good cardio session and is doable (if you like a walk) and I definitely enjoyed the quieter atmosphere up on tunnel mountain. There were access points to hikes and also my view out the window of my room (312) was so pretty. I was working a conference in Banff and I’d come back in the afternoon and watch the sun shift over the mountains as I lay in my super comfy bed! It was perfect! Also the whole place is SO SO CLEAN! I travel a lot for work and stay at hotels like the Hilton and Mariott and this hostel is every bit as clean. I actually found sharing a bathroom just fine as I really never saw anyone in the bathroom anyhow and it was so clean! I did want to hang out a bit while in Banff and enjoy some nightlife and the hostel had wonderful events in the time I was there. I attended a paint and sip which was so lovely and wholesome; the local artist who played music on her guitar had a beautiful voice and we all were given watercolours and watercolour paper! It was so peaceful. I also enjoyed a exciting kareoke night and everyone eas having so much fun; the energy was infectious. Although I was older than the average person I felt this was such an inclusive environment. The people were so welcoming and supportive. I went on a hike that was supporting mental health and Jimmy who works at the front desk was one of the guides. He was so sweet and pleasant and supportive. He gave us banana muffins and had excellent PR skills. A very sweet person. Also the food in the cafe is very good. I never ate anywhere! My whole experience at the hostel was perfect and memorable.

The location is great and I really liked that the restaurant is right next to the common area, which makes everything very convenient and easy to access. The overall atmosphere was nice and the place has a good vibe.

My private room was comfortable and secure. I was able to plug my electronics into the extension cord that ran under the bed. I knew that I would have to share a bathroom, so that was fine.
