“Two nights in Bandon”

Denis is an excellent host. Very generous with his time and knowledge of the area. His breakfasts were delicious with lots of choice. Baked treats a big bonus. He prepared a wee picnic for our day out with a flask and baking left from breakfast. Very thoughtful. Very comfortable bed and use of small lounge helpful. The animals are lovely, especially if you love animals. Izzy,the Westie, is a darling. Thank you so much Denis for a wonderful homely stay. All the best. Sandra and Paul

Our host Denis made us very welcome from the off. A cup of tea and some rhubarb tart was lovely.

The house was spotlessly clean and the host incredible warm and welcoming - felt like a close family friend. We were greeted with delicious warm homemade pie and ice-cream and the enthusiasm of beautiful Izzy the dog. The conversation was fun and flowing so much so, we missed our appointment in the morning and left our coffee cup behind. The host went out of his way and drove to where we were heading for our now late appointment with our coffee in tow. The home made breakfast was amazing and plentiful. A stay we will never forget. The house was spotless and smelled amazing from the moment we arrived. Denis went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay and made us feel so welcome. And of course, Izzy the dog was an absolute superstar and the highlight of our trip!

We had a wonderful stay! The host was incredibly friendly and exceptionally service-minded — he truly went above and beyond for us. The breakfast was also delicious and beautifully prepared. We couldn’t have been happier with our visit and would gladly stay here again!

“Amazing stay with the most fantastic host”

Exceptional stay with Denis who was the most welcoming, friendly, and generous host. The room and house were beautifully decorated and super clean, in a peaceful environment behind tall gates. We loved the chats - Denis was so funny, knowledgeable and provided lots of sightseeing tips for our trip, and the recommendations for our drive in the morning were lovely. He booked us in for a great dinner and when we mentioned we were planning to play cards in the evening, he was so kind as to go out of his way to set up the table and prepare tea for us next to the cosy fireplace. The breakfast was delicious and generous including fresh fruit salad and juice, yoghurt, cereals, toast, homemade jams, hot cooked dishes, and homemade brown bread, scones and cakes. To top it off, Denis was so thoughtful and wrapped up and packed the yummy homemade treats for our drive. A truly unforgettable stay with the best, most hospitable and genuine host who went above and beyond in every way, and super sweet dog Izzy. Thanks so much Denis and Izzy - we would love to stay again!

“Excellent bed and breakfast with the perfect host”

Excellent bed and breakfast. Dennis is a perfect host who couldn’t do enough for you. Warm welcome and offered us warm apple pie on arrival. Delicious. We mentioned we were going to have glass of wine and play cards. Dennis kindly offered us the breakfast room table and had set it up with wine glasses and serviettes but also some cheese and biscuits. How kind We stayed in 2 bedrooms with our own bathroom. Super comfy beds and everything you needed Breakfast was amazing So much choice we couldn’t eat it all. We even had some scones and coffee muffins packed for our road trip Would highly recommend

“1 night stay close to Bandon.”

The B&B was on the edge of town set back from a main road. Parking was off-road & secure. We had a lovely welcome, & were invited to have a drink & some fruit pie & ice-cream while we chatted with our host & were introduced to the dogs, cats, chickens, ducks etc. Although offered as a suite of 2 bedrooms, we opted to use just the one room, which our host appreciated. The bedroom was small, but comfortable with quality bedding & facilities, although somewhat warm overnight, even with the window open. The overall feeling of the property was a little old-fashioned. Breakfast in the morning was excellent.

Absolutely everything, but especially Dennis, our wonderful host, and Izzy, his house companion (four-legged and furry:) Add to that eight cats of multi colours and varied characters, the most charming house atmosphere imaginable, a variety of domestic fowl, heavenly roses and petunias nursed to perfection and voila! The perfect home away from home! We were sorry to leave after only one day, but were headed south for a family reunion. Had we known what a delightful host we were to encounter, we would have scheduled more time. Don’t forget to ask Dennis about Irish history, he is most informed and up for a good chat. I daren’t leave out the delicious homemade breakfast and the fact that Dennis packed us fresh scones and treats for our travels! Where else but in Ireland?

The most caring host waited for us, and treated us with tea and homemade cake on arrival. Breakfast in the morning was delicious, I had homemade soda bread and jams, as well as a full Irish breakfast. The gardens and flowers all around the house were beautiful! The location is peaceful and quiet, in the heart of a beautiful part of Ireland, perfect for exploring different sites and towns along the Wild Atlantic Way!

“A home from home.”

We chose Bandon as we wanted to go to Cork, as part of our tour of Ireland, but didn't want to stay in the city. Bandon is a short distance by bus (30 minutes or so) which was ideal. Denis is a wonderful, friendly, engaging host and his care of us, his guests, cannot be faulted. I can fully understand why guests come back to stay at St. Martin's year after year. His advice on places to go (and avoid) was invaluable. I would highly recommend staying there, as a base for Cork and the beautiful surrounding area. And the bonus is you get to meet Denis and Izzy, his delightful Westie

Great location on the edge of town for access/parking but only 10 minutes walk into town for pubs and restaurants. Secure parking off road behind a gate but with 24 hour access. Good facilities with two rooms and a bathroom just for our use, as well as use of the lounge/breakfast room if we wanted. The host was very welcoming and knowledgeable on local history (Bandon has a very interesting place in Ireland's history) and places to go/itineraries for sightseeing like nice villages and beaches, along with advice about the best roads to take (and avoid!). Hearty cooked breakfast was very good, but also other options available. House was quiet at night despite being on the main road. Garage/shop across the road (open till 10pm) for supplies and fuel.

“One of a kind.”

We loved everything about this place. The house is surrounded by beautiful flowers and populated by many sweet cats and an adorable dog; not only it is sparkling clean, but you can tell it is a loved place full of personality. Our bed was so comfortable it was hard to get out in the morning. Our room in general was a little small but in a cozy way, silent, and full of light. Our host is honestly the best one I've ever met in my life and I've travelled a lot: he is a lovely person who really values making his guests as cared for as possible, from his exceptional breakfast (homemade!) to the tea and pies he welcomes you home to after a long day out. Plus, he was full of suggestions on what to visit and told us many interesting stories about Bandon and Ireland. He was the best part of our stay. Location wise, the b&b is at walking distance from Bandon and well connected to Cork and other amazing places; the parking spot in front of the house is a very convenient plus. To summarize, I couldn't recommend Saint Martin's b&b more.
