“Fabulous views over the rice terraces & mountains - a perfect base for trekking.”

The terrace at Rita’s guesthouse has the most perfect view over the Batad rice terraces and mountains. It is a stunning location! The guesthouse is full of character - a traditional wooden building with chickens & a garden. Germaine is an excellent host - helpful & friendly. She introduced me to guide Lisa, who lives next door. Lisa guided me on 4 different day hikes & explained many aspects of life in the region, past & present. The trekking is absolutely brilliant, though demanding due to the steep terrain & high humidity. Batad is an excellent trekking base. The village is a 20 min walk from the road - remote & extremely peaceful. Germaine will arrange a lift by tricycle from the bus stop at Banaue (1 hour). I will never forget staying at Rita’s - a once in a lifetime experience! Thank you, Germaine & Lisa!

“Fabulous experience. Everyone so helpful, answering our many questions…”

This was perfect for us. We were net at the stop off point and taken up the hill to Rita’s. We wanted to share time with local people and learn of the culture, this we did. We all wished we could have stayed longer. We were able to trek the rice terraces with a lovely guid who told us if the people and history etc. same guide was available the next day for a walk to the waterfalls. A very full menu fit all meals. Try the chapatis! I would like to think I could return some day. Fantastic views. Mosquitoe nets although we didn’t have a mosquitoe problem.

Germain is a very always smiling host who will help with everything you need. She gladly cooks for you. Batad is wonderful. Quiet, as no Cars or Motors can drive there., and wonderful hikes around the area. Go visit! IT IS a visit back in time!!!

“Lovely homestay experience in the heart of the terraces.”

Lovely terrace for relaxing and admiring the wonderful view. We loved being looked after by Germaine (Rita’s daughter) who was very attentive and even helped us with some logistics, as well as onsite services such as tour guides and massages (all of which were excellent).

“A lovely stay with a lovelier host”

We had the most excellent, lovely, and attentive host! She made us feel welcome and cared for, even before we arrived at the property. The host took care to give detailed instructions on getting to Batad from Banaue town proper safely, gave practical recommendations for day tours, and helped us to secure a local tour guide. The rooms, dining/lobby area and bathroom facilities were clean. The food was excellent! The whole area was secure and we felt safe throughout our stay, would recommend :)

Rita's Mount View was everything we expected. It's not a luxury, but it's a pleasant place that we enjoyed. The food is delicious, the beds are comfortable, and the location, the scenery, and the view are fantastic. We stayed four days and three nights and hiked four to five hours each day. We highly recommend it.

Germaine and her family where charming. She always took care of us and helped us to get a guide, Elisa, who guided us around and did challenging trekkings together. The food was also really good and the views from the hotel are stunning.

Germaine was a wonderful host. Taught us so much about the area and arranged everything we wanted - from massages, to dinners, to walking tours of the rice terraces.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay here in Batad. The hosts are not only incredibly kind and attentive, but also genuinely funny and welcoming — they truly made me feel at home. The view is simply breathtaking, one of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen. The food is delicious and homemade. Everything was perfect from start to finish. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area. Thank you again for such a memorable experience!

Guesthouse is located at the top of rice terraces. Beautiful scenery surrounding. Guesthouse owners are great and my stay was perfect. Good homemade food. Be informed, that guesthouse is located in different place than indicated on booking map, location of guesthouse indicated on google maps is correct.

“Secluded paradise”

Property was exactly as it seems, the views were amazing and the staff were incredible! It is the perfect start to your Philippines trip to get away from the busy city into this incredible village! My host Germaine was lovely and super helpful, and guides Liza and Randy were great and very knowledgeable about the village during the hikes!

“Highly Recommend”

I chose this place blindly due to the good reviews and they didn't disappoint. Im very glad I chose to visit Batad because it is much quieter and closer to nature. The Inn is in an excellent location with an overview of the terraces but the best part was how easy Rita and Randy made the stay. I arrived at nighttime in the rain and was helped by Randy through the trails to reach the Inn (I don't recommend looking for it yourself at night). Right away we were warmly greeted by a smiling Rita and ordered a very nice dinner. The next day we booked a hike around the terraces, to the waterfall, and through the village at the bottom of the terraces. Randy is very knowledgeable in the local history and the uses of all of the local plants, giving us a very informative tour. I can't reccomed this place enough and will stay if I am ever back to do the multiday hike.

Our stay at Rita’s Inn was really nice. The view from the restaurant is amazing, and so is the food! The host Jermaine was very friendly and helpful with planning the rest of the trip.

I absolutely loved my stay here. The room is not fancy but is clean, comfortable & quiet & the Inn has stunning views across Batad amphitheater. Staff are really friendly & helpful & helped organise guides for hikes, massages, transport - anything needed!

Gorgeous location literally in the middle of nowhere. Great onsite restaurant open all the time. The hosts are so friendly and welcoming - real family atmosphere. Facilities are basic but everything is very clean. The beds are comfortable. They were also able to arrange tours. I would highly recommend this place on the view alone - I think it’s the best in the whole region.
