Very impressed as a solo older female needing accommodation in Ban Phe before crosssing to Ko Samet but also an excellent mainland base as its facilities and staff are first class. Room was spacious, very comfortable bed, nice bathroom - everything new and tastefully thought through. Breakfast was a full buffet, not the continental I was expecting, of cooked Asian & Western fare served in a pleasant restaurant or outside in the garden - a lovely bonus! As was the pool and very pleasant staff. Highly recommended!

Very friendly staff, nice swimming pool, good size room and very comfortable beds

We stayed there to catch the big boat to Koh Samet the next morning and it worked out perfectly. The place was clean and well maintained. Breakfast was a buffet. The staff were helpful and friendly. There were more amenities than we could use during our short stay. I did get to pet a baby goat and see some adorable bunnies. The revenue drove us to the pier to catch our boat.

The Stories Resort is a fantastic hotel if you like it nice and no stress go there the breakfast is very good 😋 and you can eat good dinner to a low price and you can rent scooter to a low price 😊 the only minus was that there are no facilities available around the pool so you have to sit on the ground i am planning to go back to Ban Phe next year 🙂

Breakfast was buffet style and exceptional value. The resort is located in quiet part of town just 500 metres from the coast and with easy access to Ban Phe and the ferry to Koh Samet.

“Great place to stay before hopping to Koh Samet”

Very pleasantly surprised. We chose it mainly for the location near the pier for Koh Samet and the reasonable price, but it exceeded expectations. Modern, smart and very clean. The room was well laid out with a huge widescreen TV, good fridge, clean bathroom and a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was excellent, especially for the price – proper buffet and all included. They also organised a tuk-tuk to the pier for us the next morning which made everything very easy. Great value for money and I would definitely stay again.

Clean, comfortable, lovely pool, good variety at breakfast, friendly staff and a ride available into town or to the port at any time. We only found one place where we could get a ride back but that was fine as it was at nuanthip where we ate every night! Amazing price for the quality of accommodation.

Good location

The hotel itself is nice, but the staff are not particularly friendly or helpful. We checked in for one night and were very happy with our initial room, so we wanted to book an additional night. This turned out to be unnecessarily complicated. The staff claimed that only certain rooms were available, all of which were much more expensive than the room we had stayed in. However, on Booking.com I could clearly see several cheaper options than what the staff suggested. We were told that we had to change rooms regardless, as our room type was supposedly not available, even though the hotel appeared almost empty. Many rooms, including the type we had, have balconies facing the pool, and we could clearly see that there were no guests staying there. In the end, we had to book a more expensive room (not as expensive as the staff told us we had to if we booked directly with them) through Booking.com and move rooms. The new room was definitely not as good as the first one. There was a very unpleasant smell in the bathroom, and the room itself was neither as nice nor as comfortable. The staff come across as not service-oriented and rather unfriendly in their manner. Breakfast is okay at best, but not really great. Had we been given the second room on the first night, we likely would not have booked an extra night, especially considering how inconvenient the staff made the process and how they made guests feel like a burden.

Thank you to the friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were spacious and very clean. We stayed one night to transit via ferry to continue our travels. Would definitely recommend
