The staff (I believe it was the lady who owns the hotel) was super accomodating when I extended my stay -on the day - (twice) to keep the same room! The room was beautifully clean, light and airy with effective air conditioning, a great view from the balcony, and comfortable. I will definitely be returning because Maerumpung beach is beautiful (didn't think I'd EVER see bio phosphorescent plankton!!!!), Ban Phe has some incredible small food outlets, Thai people are amazing, and the Makmai Villa does everything you want.. with a smile! Also, Koh Samed is just a quick boat trip from here. Thank you *Makmai for being a great base and a fantastic welcome to Thailand! 🙏🏼❤️

Makmai Villas was a great place to spend a while (we were there a week). The hotel owners are WONDERFUL, they were incredibly helpful in arranging a scooter hire and onward bus to Bangkok. The room was cleaned every day, with fresh towels and at least 3 new sets of bedding during the week, above and beyond! In fact, Makmai was the cleanest place we stayed in our 2 month trip through Thailand. The wifi was great, accessible from all areas, perhaps even from the beach, which is located directly in front of the guest house.

Peaceful, quiet, clean, right by the sea. Big, airy room with good balcony. Lovely pool, helpful hosts. Restaurants close by, very tranquil area.

It was a very well-run hotel and the Hosts were professional and very gracious. The rooms were clean and well-kept, as were the pool and surroundings. overall a very pleasant place to stay and I hope to return in the future.

A very clean tidy and fresh smelling place. Not very modern but intesting furnishing and decorating update made it very pleasant. The beds were medium hard so good for your back - soft beds are not good. A nice pool and gardens secluided and quiet but right opposite the beach where good Thai food was plentiful and not expensive.
