Overview
In picturesque Ballinskelligs, the 19th-century Old School House B&B is nestled between sandy beaches and stunning mountains on the Wild Atlantic Way. This guest house serves home cooked breakfasts, which are prepared using fresh, local ingredients. This bed and breakfast provides bright, traditional rooms each featuring a TV, ironing facilities, free tea and coffee and a private bathroom. Some rooms also boast beautiful mountain and bay views. Traditional Irish breakfasts are served each morning, including home-made bread, pancakes, Irish smoked salmon and local free range eggs and milk. There is a guest lounge with an open fire and a TV. Evening meals can also be enjoyed upon prior arrangement. Ballinskelligs Abbey, built in the 9th-century, is just a few minutes’ drive away. The local coastline is less than a mile away and perfect for walks, whilst the owners can help plan boat trips or suggest other local attractions. The area is ideal for kayaking, canoeing, rock climbing, abseiling, golfing or horse riding. The area is known for its clear, dark skies, ideal for stargazing. Local attractions include the Ring of Kerry, and the property can arrange boat trips to Skellig Michael.

“Amazing hosts! ♥️”
The hosts were just amazing. Very welcoming! The communication before our arrival was excellent. We loved all Dominic’s stories, music and magician tricks. ♥️

The Old School House used to be an actual school that housed 75 kids. The place is big and the main room in the house bring you back in time. We had amazing conversations with Dominick and Lillian and of course the sweetest Phoebe. The garden of the house is almost magical. My daughter just liked going in there and discovering lots of hidden details. The room was big enough for the 3 of us. At night it was quiet and peaceful. Breakfast was great and it gave us the chance to meet other guests.

From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. This B&B is run by a wonderful, welcoming family who made us feel like part of their own. The location is easy to find and set in a beautiful area, perfect for a relaxing stay. The breakfast was delicious — especially the pancakes, which our whole family loved! The warmth of the hosts, their kind conversations and care truly touched us. Everything was very comfortable and cozy: the beds were great, it was peaceful and quiet, and we slept really well. We would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for comfort, kindness, and a great location. Thank you again for such a heartwarming stay!

We had a truly pleasant stay in a cozy, no-frills room with a private bathroom that was absolutely sufficient for our needs. Breakfast was simple but satisfying, with a choice between bacon and eggs or pancakes, complemented by some bread with jam and cereals. One of the highlights was being able to take just a few steps down and enjoy our host’s delightful guitar sessions or even a bit of magic. And for dog lovers, there’s Phoebe, the sweet and friendly dog who’s always happy to receive some cuddles.

Very friendly people, lovely pancakes for breakfast, allowed us to have our own BBQ in the garden which saved a long drive to a restaurant. Enjoyed the impromptu singing at breakfast!
