Overview
The Shearwater Hotel is just 20 minutes' drive from Athlone and a 50-minute car journey from Galway. It is close to the marina and the River Suck. It offers fine-dining at Marengo's, a modern bar, and The SPA and a Shearfitness leisure centre with swimming pool. Each bedroom has free Wi-Fi, a comfortable bed and an LCD TV screen. Lovely staff keen to assist in any way they could. The hotel is bright and airy. There are separate seating options outside the bar if you prefer quiet intimate chat while having food and drinks.

“Great place to stay in Ballinasloe”
Great spot to stay in Ballinasloe! The Shearwater has everything you need - parking, restaurant, gym, pool, friendly staff and Guinness! I will be back!

The hotel has a lovely welcoming entrance, pool and spa facilities were fabulous, we used pool area quite a lot & the staff on all ocassions were super friendly and helpful👌Our room was nice, we were expecting it to be nicer, a bit out dated. Had all we needed & lovely to have tge choice of bath or shower. Breakfast was delicious on both mornings, floor staff & supervisor were very friendly & attentive👏 We attended a weddding & the professiolism from staff in the lobby & function room was exceptional, the food served was top standard, we had salmon & beef as mains, cooked to perfection 👏

“I do like this hotel but standards have dropped slightly since my last stay here.”
Room was good size as was the shower, didnt eat breakfast here. Lobby was spacious, hotel receptionists were friendly.

“Great Facilities”
Shearwater Hotel had great facilities. Gym, spa, bar, restaurant. We were heading to a wedding in Tipperary so a great spot to relax prior close to family and friends. Best spray tan ever.

“Nice hotel, well decorated and well equipped.”
The room was comfortable and the breakfast was good. The swimming pool is large, with jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. The gym is well equipped.
