“Great hotel in the oldest tourist resort in Romania”

Pros: -excellent spa area, obviously a culture in this regard; -great breakfast, good dinner, some hits, some misses; -perfect gym area; -nice staff and generally a strong hotel choice in the area.

Everything was excellent: the hotel, the spa and the restaurant.

It is a very nice hotel, rooms are new, clean and spacious, the staff is nice and there is an excellent restaurant.

Although the “deluxe” room was quite small, it was still fairly comfortable. The spa area is nice and looks great. Both dinner and breakfast were very good. Having dinner included was a big plus, given the limited options in the resort area in the evening.

Breakfast was very good, SPA area exceeded my expectations.

The hotel lists itself as a 4 star hotel. But after visiting I can say that indeed the 4 star part of the hotel is from the reception floor and down two levels (restaurants and SPA area), but the top part from the reception is 3 stars at best, and I'm talking about the quality of finishes in the rooms and the hallways. It's admitedly clean from our experience, although in the 3 days we spent there we didn't have our sheets or towels changed. The food and variety for breakfast and dinner was acceptable. The views are great, especially from the rooms on the back side of the hotel.

“Wonderful staff, lousy elevators, expensive, needs renovations”

I loved Baile Herculane, the old buildings in the town are beautiful, history and elegance blending together. Unfortunately the town, which is a resort, has been neglected by illicit extractive corrupt owner of the hotels and baths, but with proper leadership this town will flourish again.

- the smell was terrible - you need to wait for elevator about 15-20 min, we used stairs for all stay - room service doesn't exist, you need to go to reception to ask something - the room need some renovation
