Very authentic and beautiful building. The food is good and the personnel very friendly.

Breakfast included eggs, toast, fruit and coffee. Friendly staff happy to translate French to Australian english. Quaint old building with plenty of character.

We loved the whole cozy aspect of Chez Sam, chock full of mementos and antiques, a very nice piano and even a pool table. The whole atmosphere was warm, inviting and laid back.

It is evidently a good example of all that one cannot accept under the pretext of "vintage and native". Unfortunately, the price is still too high for a kind of half-hippie hostel. Why? First, we had to wait for more than 1 hour in front of the locked door for the owner to even come to the location (after several phone calls), then they left us guests alone in the building and went home until the morning... Meanwhile, we realized that in the bathroom we don't have hot water for the shower, the bedding smelled unpleasant and the authentic wooden floor creaked just right, so that you could hear every movement, no matter how small, of anyone in the house, all night long... And for a reason, we almost broke the door of the room, because it wouldn't open unlock... Friendly owners and a solid breakfast definitely cannot outweigh the other negative reviews.

the host and the staff were very friendly and helpful, we had excellent breakfast, the house has got a special charme, you've got a fantastic view on Baie-St.-Catherine and the St.-Lawrence, the room was comfy

So homely & friendly. The kitchen was closed when we stayed for meals, but we were given free reign to the kitchen to use for our own cooking. I wish that we had longer to stay. Very comfortable.

A treasure trove of character, charm and ambiance. Comfortable beds, beauty view, close to Tadoussac ferry, very kinds and friendly host. Delightful!

Very friendly owner and staff. A nice location, close to the Ste-Catherine's wharf from where the ships head off to whale tours, a church, a cemetery, a CLSC, a beach. A very nice breakfast: cereals with milk for kids, a pudding with jam, hot croissants, scrambled eggs for kids and oeuf mirroir for adults, unlimited coffee, slices of oranges and bananas. A fridge and a freezer were available for our usage too. Kids playground is available just to the left from the property, in front of the CLSC.

“Peaceful”

Very nice people, a great history and an amazing location. We spent part of the night and morning talking with the owners and we came back home making plans to another visit during summer.
