Disappointing Stay On arrival, there was no reception, signage, or staff-just an empty building decorated with deer antlers, resembling a hunting lodge rather than a hotel. Check-in took ten seconds: “The key is in the door, second floor.” No information was given about breakfast, facilities, or the property itself. Checkout was equally nonexistent-we simply left, as there were still no staff anywhere. The Room Basic and unfinished: bare wooden floors, a noisy fridge, poor lighting, and two uncomfortable beds. No kettle, glasses, or fan were provided, despite a heatwave. Mosquitoes were constant, with no nets available. The steep, narrow staircase also felt unsafe when carrying luggage. Misleading Advertising The property was listed on Booking.com as a hotel, but only after arrival did we receive a text clarifying that it was “agrotourism.” In practice, this meant that for any service you had to call, email, or text. For example, when we requested fresh towels, the old ones were never collected, and the new ones were simply left on the floor outside our room rather than delivered inside. A communal tea/coffee station apparently existed under the stairs, but there was no mention of it-we only discovered it after seeing other guests use it. Why hide this instead of placing it in the dining room? The service was not just minimal but also bizarre. Safety Concerns No visible fire alarm or escape plan was provided in the room. Overall Impression The property trades on the name “Pałac” but delivers disorganized, low-quality accommodation with no sign of professional hospitality. Customer service from Booking.com only deepened the confusion, shifting explanations from “it is a hotel” to “it is like a hotel,” and finally to “it is a condotel.” The Polish countryside is undeniably beautiful, but it’s disheartening to see places like this attempt to profit while failing to provide basic customer service and hiding behind a confused identity.

Carolina and Michael were the nicest people we met and the best hosts possible. The place felt like home, there were so many facilities we could use! The boats, the private beach, sun chairs, barbecue, ping pong table and pool table... The lake was nice and quiet and it was great to swim. The rooms were spacious and had a lovely view. Thank you for a dream vacation!

The location is phenomenal: by the lake, close to forests and fields, one of few well-preserved mansions in this part of Upper Prussia. The hosts were more than friendly.
