“The most disappointing booking experience I have ever had”
Booking.com customer service encouraged me to share my experience, so here we go. Shortly after booking, on a Sunday evening, the property owner contacted me and requested that I promote her business on my private facebook page as well as among the circle of my friends. When I tried to clarify a conflicting information listed on their site concerning facilities, she did not gave a straight answer though. Approaching the date of my booking, I tried to contact the property's mobile phone number several times for a number of days, but noone was available at all, and SMS came back "undeliverable". I contacted customer service, who disclosed an alternative mobile number to reach the property owner - I tried with that one, but the moment she picked up and heard me introducing myself, she immediately cut the line, cutting me off. At this time, I already paid for the accommodation, so I asked for a refund, just like the property owner promised me earlier in writing, in case of a cancellation. Of course, she refused that too, and claimed to booking.com that I did not call her. All in all, unacceptable behaviour for a business owner.
