“Superb. I very likely will be back next summer.”
Very friendly staff. Absolutely superb breakfast service (11/10)! Newly renovated from the ground up. WiFi works fine. Supermarket just across the street. Perfect location for a lot of hiking. Easily reachable by car as well as public transport. Despite this being an active railway station, the trains didn't bother me sound wise. With the windows closed, sound isolation was extremely good, and even sleeping with the window open was OK (I will add that my room was on the street side of the building, however).

“Special place run by an enthusiastic host.”
A special place within an old train station. The host had done all to welcome the new guests in her recently rehabilitated place. Rooms are designed based on different themes like bicycle, lake, Lobenstein etc. I slept in the 'lake' room in which the room pictured the biggest lake in Thuringen and the bed was shaped as a boat! There is a rich breakfast as well and safe storage for the bike.
