Overview
This eco-friendly hotel is set in a 16th-century troglodyte farmhouse, 1 km from the centre of Azay-le-Rideau in the Centre region. It offers a flowery garden, a lounge area with free Wi-Fi. The south-exposed guest rooms at Logis Hôtels Troglododo open up to a private terrace and most rooms are carved out of limestone cliffs. They each have a shower room and facilities for making hot drinks. Every room is equipped with a computer and hairdryer. A continental breakfast can be enjoyed daily in the breakfast room, or in your room at an extra cost.The hotel only uses organic cleaning products and electricity from solar panels. Free private parking is available on site and Château d’Azay-le-Rideau is 1.6 km away. The hotel is set in Loire-Anjou-Touraine Regional Nature Park and is 26 km from central Tours.

“Hotel Troglododo,Azay le Rideau.”
It was absolutely wonderful,so calming and relaxing.We didn't have a Troglodyte room but the one we did have was small but beautiful with a lovely view. The dining area is in one of the caves with great lighting.The breakfast was plentiful with a huge choice and many items home-made. Wish we could have stayed longer, but we will be back.

Lovely hotel, beautiful grounds and surroundings. The terrace was lovely to sit out at night on. Pool was so chilled and the family who run it were so helpful. 10-15 min walk to the town where all the restaurants and bars are. Would stay here again.

“Probably our favourite place to stay in France”
Room was good. Response of staff to problems was good. Pool was very good. Free EV charging was the icing on the cake- not part of the original deal but great to have as a bonus

“So bad we couldn't stay the night.”
So bad we didn't stay the night. We were relyng on the fact that it was rated 9 but it was awful - the room was mouldy and the whole hotel désuet. Booking definitely needs to correct its rattng methods if this is a 9. We had to pay for a second hotel for that noght and I don't think we'll use Booking again if the ratings can't be relied on.

The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The facilities were extremely homely and quirky. The checking in and checking out procedures were effortless. We loved that the pool was open at all times due to the hot weather- we were able to go for a swim before breakfast. The continental breakfast was fantastic with a huge variety of tasty treats. A comfortable stroll into the village for some lovely food in the evening. Local beers available on our return. Would highly recommend a stay here

“One word 'WOW'”
Location, especially with dog was a track from right behind accommodation. Super choice at breakfast with homemade cakes, jams and yoghurts. Large room with lots of storage space and beautiful bathroom, individual outside area for each room. Nice clean pool to cool off in after hard days sightseeing. Very friendly and helpful staff (including Lewis the collie)

“A fun overnight stay with an easy evening in Azay-le-Rideau within walking distance.”
A fun great location, the caves are cool and spacious. We could easily walk into town, the dogs were well accomodated. On arrival we had a refreshing swim and relaxed by the pool. Great breakfast.

“A unique hotel - you will not regret it!”
The experience of staying in a cave - the hotel resort was absolutely stunning and the pool was amazing - easy stroll into town which only took about 15 minutes. The pool sun beds were the most comfortable I’ve seen!
