“A little gem hidden in the hills”

I think this place is a little gem hidden in the hills by the forest in Aubagne. My son and I stayed here for a week, unfortunately because it is chilly in January I didn't go in the pool or hot tub, but they looked clean and inviting. Vanessa, our host, was amazing and on hand if we needed anything. She kindly gave us a larger apartment at no extra cost and everything you could need was available. We unfortunately had to cut our holiday short and Vanessa processed the refund the same day, no quibble. We also had a continental breakfast delivered every morning which was plentiful. As we had no car Vanessa explained there was a free shuttle bus into the town centre (No 14) about 200m from the apartment and she gave us a lift down the hill to the town centre on our first morning. I would recommend a car due to the location though as it is a steep climb up the hill. The buses were regular but the last bus back from town was approx 7pm and doesn't run Sunday. I would definitely recommend this place and would stay here again, but next time in the summer. 5*

We had a great stay. Vanessa, our host, was incredibly friendly and helpful. The accommodation was good and as we had a 'junior suite' it had two rooms, fridge, microwave and a small table and chairs so we were able to make simple food for ourselves. We really enjoyed the fact that it's outside of the town centre and in beautiful countryside.

Out of town as we had a car, so quiet. Unfortunately the pool was very cold as we were out of season. Very disappointed with our family room. We never saw any staff to complain, but it was slightly tamp. You could tell they had damp in this room but the walls in the bathroom had been cleaned up to a point to be noticeable. But I could see at a point an arm sweep couldn’t reach signs of damp. The beds were slightly damp. Dried up after keeping windows open after a few nights. Very small rooms and the silver wall colour in the main bedroom felt very dark and gloomy and we felt we were sleeping in a students bedroom. The purple plastic ceiling ( not shown in the photos of the property ) may be to cover dampness noticeable out of season. Very dark, and unappealing room.

“Super enjoyable stay...”

This residence with separate quarters for guests all with private entrance was amazing!! the privacy was amazing and secure. Very close to the village to go out for dinner or buy local products at the fantastic grocery store 9 minutes away and cook in your little house. The hosts are super people .. very close to Marseille or super motorway to get to the ocean.. both within 30 minutes... WE are coming back!! Enjoy

A fantastic find with a unique charm, great value for money, perfect for families and a peaceful location. Great facilities; we enjoyed being able to make lunch in our room and also at the communal kitchen near the pool. Lots of places to sit outside and eat too. The owners and staff were so friendly and helpful and gave us the warmest welcome, they really made us feel at home!

Royal Palmeraie is a true oasis in Provence, with a small selection of charming cottages surrounding a lush garden and beautiful pool. We stayed in a cottage decorated with a theme reminiscent of an ancient temple hidden in the jungle. The large, comfortable bed and the modern marble bathroom were great features. Though the cottage’s kitchen was on the smaller side, the communal kitchen by the pool was very convenient. The secluded jacuzzi was modern and perfect for relaxation, offering a quiet retreat. The hosts were wonderfully welcoming and interesting people, always available when needed, but never overbearing. The location is also ideal—within 30 minutes to an hour of amazing hikes in the Calanques around Cassis and Marseille, making it a great base for both relaxation and adventure!

Residence Royal Palmeraie is a very nice country residence set in a quiet tranquil location outside Aubagne. We had an apartment for 4 people, 2 adults and 2 teens. Everything we needed was supplied. Beds were very comfortable and the apartment was very clean. We especially liked the pool and outdoor seating areas, there was a themed room that had an Indiana Jones vibe going on, we loved it. We loved sitting around the communal areas just chilling out in the evening having a beer and listening to the crickets. The owners were very friendly and around in the background to help with anything, we liked the man who met us with the key and had a long chat in French even though we didn't really speak it we understood everything perfectly, the joys of travelling. This place is very suitable for anyone with their own transport who want to chill out and relax away from hustle and bustle, but yet just a short drive to everywhere. I will be keeping this address shortlisted as I would definitely stay here again.
