Omar, the host was very hospitable. Knowing I would leave early morning to a tour, he left me with this increíble lunch bag outside my bedroom's door. It sabes my day. I met his brother Abu and with him I also leave my apreciation for the Best chicken and rice ever.

“A good place to rest quietly”

Kashita Nubian Guesthouse is located on Elephant Island, making it a quiet and relaxing place. On the day of my arrival, they came out to the pier across the way in a private boat to greet me, and after I checked out, they carried my luggage to the pier for me. They served a delicious breakfast with a different menu, the room was neatly organized, and the bed was comfortable. It is a place I definitely want to visit again with my friends.

Great location on Elephantine Island. Lovely room. Omar could not have been more helpful - picked me up and dropped me off from the Corniche in Aswan, helped organise a car so I could visit Abu Simbel and made a packed breakfast for me on the days I had an early start. On the day I did eat at the Guest House, the breakfast was fab.

Owner went above and beyond for us. He came to pick us up in his private boat on arrival. He made us a pack-lunch for the very early morning daytrip to Abu Simbel and even woke up in the middle of the night to bring us to the mainland Aswan so would could go to the Abu Simbel tour. 10/10 experience with a 11/10 host.

“Perfect place to stay & wonderful host”

I absolutely loved my stay here and wish it could have been longer! The guest house is located on Elephantine Island, so you can relax and enjoy how quiet it is compared to the noise of the city. My room was lovely, with a comfortable bed and even a small balcony. The bathroom was clean and the shower always had hot water. There's a rooftop, where I had breakfast in the morning, which was always freshly prepared. What makes this place extra special is the host, Omar, who really goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. He came to pick me up by boat from the ferry stop when I first arrived and managed to arrange a spontaneous tour to Abu Simbel for the next day within a few minutes. During my time in Aswan he was always available for any question I had. When I got sick during my stay (not from food I had at the guest house!) Omar really saved the day by picking up some medicine in town so I didn't have to go on my own while sick. I hope to return to see more of Aswan and to stay at this guest house again. Thank you for everything, Omar!

Omar was waiting with the boat and helped us with our luggage. He was a very humble person. The room was very clean and all facilities are good. The Island was quiet and overall had a nice experience being there.

“Amazing host, cute guesthouse, peaceful and quiet”

My partner and me absolutely loved our stay at the guest house. Omar is truly the most wonderful host! We felt super welcome. He picked us up late in the evening by boat to get to the hotel, was always happy to help us with anything or bring us back and forth with his boat. We have enjoyed his rooftop at max where he would prepare us tea or coffee and we enjoyed the breakfast he would make. The area is amazingly quiet, next to the river, in between the green, where you can actually enjoy the silene peacefully. The rooms were spacious, and cute and the bed was super comfortable. We truly recommend staying at this guesthouse of Omar! We loved it! Thank you Omar!

“Great hospitality”

A hidden gem! The building has an exotic build style. Plus the rooms were very tidy and cozy as well (Soft pillows). The island is very calm compared to the city side. Omar (The owner) is one of the kindest persons I have ever met as a host during my time travelling. He picked us from the other river side with his boat and also dropped us for our tour next day in the early morning. Ask him if you need help with organizing your visit to Abu Simbel, he arranged it for us with a good deal. We will come back! Thank you for making our stay in Aswan unforgettable and for the birthday cake too.

I stayed at Kashta Nubian Guesthouse on Elephantine Island in Aswan, and overall it was a really good experience. The location is beautiful and peaceful — you can simply step outside and explore the island. It’s also conveniently close to the main sights in Aswan. The food was excellent, especially the breakfast, which I really enjoyed.

10000/10 Highly recommended. Our favorite hotel and location in all of Egypt! The guesthouse is located on the beautiful elephatine island. A peaceful and quiet oasis. It is very easy to get to the island as Omar picked us up from the public ferry with his boat. We took the public ferry only once, and it was easy and very cheap (15LE). Kashta is a very charming guesthouse. It is calm, clean, and cozy. The bed and the pillows are very comfortable and there is a lovely terrace on the roof top where we ate our very tasty breakfast cooked by Omar and to simply relax. There is free Wi-Fi that works perfectly all around the guesthouse. Omar is an exceptionally friendly, honest, and respectful manager. He always took the time to sit down and answer any questions we had and made sure we felt happy and comfortable. He is genuinely a good man who goes out of his way to make our stay special. He even got up at 2am to drive us in his boat to the main land, with a packed breakfast, where we met our friendly and safe driver for our journey to Abu Simbel, which Omar kindly organized for us. Omar also helped us with our time at the island/Aswan, including organizing a night journey to Abu Simbel, faluka ride, Botanical Garden, etc. We couldn't be happier, and we would absolutely go back to Kashta when we will return in Egypt. Thank you very much, Omar!

This is an extremely high quality Nubian guesthouse on quiet elephantine island in Aswan. The breakfasts were varied and delicious. The rooms were comfortable, tastefully decorated and clean. We are a family of 4 and found 2 rooms worked perfectly for us. Thank you Omar and family!

“Hidden gem with a warm host. Beautiful room, nice breakfast and great trips organized by the host.”

Elephantine Island is a hidden gem that really elevated our Egypt experience. Omar (host) is such a warm person that will help you with anything you need. Forget about hustlers, negotiating and searching for trips/experiences; Omar will take care of everything for best price you can get (I double checked :) ) We booked Abu Simbel, boat ride to Nubian village and he also organized us a car transfer to Luxor and a pick-up from Aswan airport. Kashta Guest house is also the only accomodation on our Egypt trip that actually is better in real-life than photos :). Rooftop breakfast was the best way to start the day and for the Abu Simbel trip, Omar prepared us sandwiches, as we went early in the morning. Pro tip: Greet locals with "As-salamu alaykum" around the island and observe their reactions and their many different versions of greeting you back. As it literally means "Peace be upon you", I have a feeling that they have greeted me, wishing me every peace on the world there is to me and my extended family :). (I obviously don't know what they really said)

Omar was truly the highlight of our stay. He was always available to take us back to shore with his boat — even very late at night — and he did it with genuine kindness and reliability. You can clearly see that his guests are his top priority

Kashta Nubian Guest House provides excellent value for money. The rooms are basic, but comfortable and clean. The guest house is on the quiet side of Elephantine Island, within easy walking distance from the public ferry to Aswan East bank. WiFi was the best we had in Egypt! Omar was the perfect host. He went out of his way to assist us with booking our trips to Abu Simbel, Philae Island and the Aswan High Dam - getting up at 3:30am to prepare a packed breakfast and accompany us to the waiting car! A big thank you to Omar. We had a great time at Kashta Nubian Guest House.
