“Feeling at home in Assisi”
Giordano was very friendly and welcomed me as if a family member. I stayed at Alter Ego on two separate occasions and would definitely return here the next time I go to Assisi. The location is perfect, on a quiet street very close to the Piazza del Comune.

“Good place for small trips”
Positive points: The location is super. Less than 150 m from the Piazza de la Comune and less than 15 min to several top locations in Assisi high town. The owner, Mr Giordano, was very friendly and gave directions for us. The bathroom have shampoo and soft soap. The cleaness was very good. The heating was eficient both in the sleeping room as well as in the bathroom. There is a small mess hall where we may eat and heat some food with a microwave. There is also a small refrigerator in the mess room that every guest may use. The vending machine in the mess room practices very fair prices for water, sodas and snacks. Negative points: The shower was broken and the water was flowing in the wrong direction. It was needed to hold the shower with one hand while washing the body. Also the shower drain got clogged and it was not possible to take a shower on the third day.. Hope Mr Giordano may fix these points for the next guest. Another point is the size of the room. If you have big lugage (we were carrying 3 cases) there is no space to open more than one case at a time.

Very close to everything. The host was fantastic and very helpful. It's a cosy little small town feeling, that's what I went there for. Right from the time I stepped in it felt very comfortable. The host helped me with carrying my luggage upstairs. Breakfast has fresh scrambled eggs and of course some variety of bread and cakes with coffee 😋. You are looked after by the host personally. The location was central, walkable from the bus stop All the eateries and cathedrals were walkable. Would highly recommend. Loved my stay over Christmas 🎄

Check-in was very smooth, the room was super clean and the temperature was warm despite the cold outside, the location was perfect to reach all the city, the view from the window was very nice, the price quality ration is very high.

Everything was perfect! Giordano was real nice owner, very accommodating and granted all our request! The room & place was clean, neat and tidy. Affordable and cheaper than the other hotels. The place is accessible to everything. Churches, shops, restaurants. The place has also cheaper city tax payment. Homely facilities & proper breakfast was real good, with fruits! We enjoyed our stay in here! Grazie Giordano! We definitely come back & stay in your place! And will recommend to family and friends!😊👏

“I didn’t stay as I wouldn’t stay in a place where I am met with aggression.”
I didn’t actually stay here although I paid for it. I was let into the building by an Italian lady and gentleman on their way out. They said the key is in the door. There was no-one at reception so I wasn’t sure if they were the proprietors or guests but they were going out. I had no previous communication. I left my belongings and went out to eat after a long day of travelling 9 hours. I had already paid online. So I thought I can just show my ID later or send it as happens with most hosts. When I returned I was met with a very aggressive rude man who had previously sent very strange messages to my WhatsApp. He was shouting and also lied about contacting me etc. He said I should have contacted him. I couldn’t contact as I couldn’t use my phone so when I went to eat I checked my messages and found it all very strange. I don’t have to take abuse from anyone and most certainly not a rude man that I have paid £60 to stay in a room that was nothing special at all. A person in the hospitality business providing a service and behaving in such an abhorrent manner. Perhaps he has issues with independent women, who knows but he certainly was not behaving normal. He also texted that I needed to get educated. FYI I am well-educated and we’ll-travelled and culture. You on the other hand lack manners and integrity.
