“Uninterrupted blissful rest”

It’s rare that a stay inspires me to write a review, but Höga Backe Gästhus is easily one of the best places I’ve stayed in 2024. The highlight of my visit? The sheer quality of my sleep. I went to bed around 11 p.m., only to sleep through my alarm and wake up at 11 a.m. – a full 12 hours of uninterrupted, blissful rest! The location is incredibly quiet, calm, and peaceful, making it the perfect retreat. Though there’s no Wi-Fi, the accommodation more than makes up for it with a lightning-fast Ethernet connection. The hosts even provide USB Ethernet adapters so you can connect your phone, laptop, or tablet effortlessly, with multiple access points in the room. If you can connect a phone charger, you will be able to connect this no problem! The lack of Wi-Fi allows you to truly switch off when needed, but when it’s time to work, the connection speed is exceptional—I had several video calls during my stay, and the connection was flawless. The beds are exceptionally comfortable, and there’s plenty of parking available. Overall, Höga Backe Gästhus is a perfect blend of serenity and practicality—ideal for both relaxation and productivity.

We had a great stay at the guest house. We stayed there for two nights and were very comfortable. It got really cold at night, but there were two heaters in the room and many blankets to get cozy. There was a fridge and a microwave outside on the veranda of our hut. I think you need to bring your own cutlery and other cooking equipment (we brought a small gas cooker). There are only a few cups and small plates for tea and coffee. It was a little tricky with cleaning our cooking equipment in the bathroom sink. That’s not a contra, as there was nothing written about cooking in the booking description - but maybe it is helpful to know for planning your stay. Everything was clean and tidy. We got tips for having a walk in the area. There is no WiFi, but very good LAN. Very nice couple that runs the place.

Generous and helpful hosts. The surroundings where pleasant. Wired internet was fast, only via USB-C though, so bring a USB-C to Lightning-adapter if you can, we could borrow one from the hosts for our stay

Whole property is so nice, sustainable living, speed internet, quiet location in the forest. Option to get plant based breakfast and use of jacuzzi. Owners are very friendly and helpful. We were surprised that our room was actually in a separate private cottage!

This place is so warm and cozy that it felt like home. Bed was very comfortable - I overslept and hit the road an hour later that I planned. The hosts are fantastic people who really care about guests - I hope to see You again!
