“Amazing and recommended stay!”

We had a great time! The host is super nice and very caring, the room was beautiful japanese style, and the overall vibe in the stay was amazing. I would recommend it definitely.

Great stay at Home Stay Kucha! We had a wonderful time in this lovely little house. It was very clean and well kept. The location is perfect, just a short walk from the sea. The host was incredibly kind and welcoming, always ready to help if we needed anything. We felt at home right away. Highly recommended!

Lovely host Takoko kept the house super clean, cooked delicious food and had plenty of information available about the island. Super comfortable beds, authentic Japanese experience!

“Beautiful place and person”

This house has charm! The host is lovely, attentive and cooks great. The house is easy to reach by bus from the port, or in case you want is just a 30 minutes walk from there. The room was nice, had air conditioning and the beds were comfy. Also, I liked that you could rent material to do some snorkeling and take some amenities. We also enjoyed Kiki's company.

“Paradise”

Our stay at Kucha was one of the highlights of our 8 week trip. Takaka-san is a very helpfull and sweet host and great cook. The traditional Japanese house has everything you need from snorkel gear to beach towels to a washing machine. It's not so far from the port, we rented bicycles but the hills are quite steep so the bus would also be an option. We really wished we could stay longer because it felt like paradise! Also, Kiki the cat is very cute.

“A peaceful and beautiful place to stay”

The house is beautiful and clean. Its 30 minutes by foot from the main village, but there is a bus from the ferry stop to Asa. Our host was very nice and the food was delicious. We had breakfast and dinner a few times and it was always delicious. The beds were very comfortable.

“Loved our stay!”

The host is such a wonderful person and really made us feel welcome. Highly recommend the homemade dinner and breakfast!! The futons were incredibly comfortable. There is also some stuff like snorkeling gear and cup noodles available for a little fee. The whole place felt cosy, and personable. It was really precious to spend some time in this guesthouse, and we would love to stay there again in the future. To add, THESE ARE NOT NEGATIVES but a headsup: Zamami is a small island and there is a bus that stops really close to the guesthouse, but make sure you check on times as it's irregular and stops before the evening. Aircons are really expensive and unsustainable to run, so there is an aircon in the room but it's charged by the hour. It's reasonable in my opinion. There are fans in all rooms and you can create airflow in the room as well. Last thing is to keep in mind that it is an old traditional home so walls are thin and if you're expecting a hotel experience, this might not be the place for you.
