The stay was absolutely wonderful and the host made sure we had all we needed, from great food, to a special cake to celebrate our honeymoon. We are deeply grateful for this experience and are looking forward to staying here again in the future.

Everything! The atmosphere that make Kucha is amazing! If we could have stay 2 or 3 weeks we would gladly! :) the house is great and you feel very welcome.

The host was so amazing and welcoming and her food was so delicious! She had some great snorkel gear for rent and there were some beautiful beaches we could walk to from her house. We loved our stay :)

A beautiful house and a very welcoming host! So helpful and accommodating to make your stay perfect. Such a beautiful island.

The place is a little bit secluded from the main town but still reachable by a 20-30min walking. A bus stop is 30s far from the house (but not many buses per day). Takako San is a nice host and a great cooker so eating there is highly recommended. I had to leave a day before and the main host (I didn’t met during my stay) with whom I discussed by messages was very accommodating and nice.

“Homely vibes, great remote beaches nearby”

Suited for off-beat travellers. Location has good proximity to remote beaches. No supermarkets or restaurants nearby so recommend buying food for fridge and microwave cooking. Overall the landlady is sweet and pays special attention to small things to make your trip comfortable. She also cooks yummy food but be aware it costs 2000yen. She has a cafe during the day which sells super yummy smoothies - I definitely recommend the smoothies!

Comfortable beds - welcoming host, nice authentic food and nice, quiet location if that’s what you’re after

Wonderful little home stay with a wonderful owner who makes the best meals. Simple homely rooms, an ice cream machine at your disposal, and the local cat make this place extra special.

The common dining area was very friendly and cozy to enjoy meals and mingle with other guests. The room was very comfortable with good mattresses and slept so well !

“Real comfortable guesthouse with a kind host”

The host is a kind lady who is a local from the island and she makes homemade meals if would like to eat at the guesthouse. The place is clean in traditional Japanese style. The bed was a comfortable high matras. There is a ice cream machine and a coffee machine are available and as well equipment for snorkeling or chilling at the beach. Definitely recommend this guesthouse if you love peace and nature. Also I like the homemade smoothie with sweet potato and sesame seeds. Would recommend to go to the Furuzamami beach at this island for lively corals and fishes.

“GREAT accomodation on gorgeous island”

Local and really kind homeowner welcomes you in a traditional house with a common room and various individual rooms. It felt like HOME from the first moment. Great money for value and it´s also possible to buy cheap drinking water (and Cup Noodles) at this accomodation.

“Amazing place to stay with a great hosts & chance to meet other travelers”

This was our most favorite stay of our whole Japan trip. The main reason for this was that it's a homestay. Our host Takago was sooo great, super super friendly, funny, cool & an amazing cook. Plus we got to meet many other nice travellers there and it was always a nice place to be. The food she cooked for us was amazing and super authentic. The island is small and you can walk almost everywhere. The island itself looks like it's a bit deserted. The houses aren't pretty and there isn't much, so don't be repelled by this. We were a bit suspicious at the start but in the end it was our very favorite thing!

The host puts a lot of effort in everything she does. From cleaning to making all the meals by herself, which were really good.
