Harim was so welcoming and helpful . we felt right at home in this very comfortable and locally embedded place where it feels like we are supporting local people. rooms are comfortable and the location is central . breakfasts are great and most of all the day to day advice and contacts and suggestions for anything we needed help with for our trip. highly recommend staying here

Arne's place was fantastic and was a a hidden gem in Arugam bay. The host was very understanding and allowed us to cook and use the kitchen. He also arranged our safari to Kumana and was above and beyond with his hospitality. I would highly recommend Arne's place

I really recommend staying here, it is the best place in Arugam bay! The manager Haleem is so lovely, welcoming and very helpful - he really goes above and beyond to make your stay amazing. Everyone who works there is so kind and you definitely feel very safe. It is in the perfect location, a quick walk from everything you want to be near (beach/restaurants/shops) but also peaceful and quiet. The room was gorgeous with a very comfortable bed, a nice clean bathroom, good AC and a cute porch/balcony to chill outside. The communal areas were great and the food was tasty too! His brother Mahir runs an amazing surf school, I got lessons with him which were so good - he was very knowledgeable, patient, and friendly. He made it a super fun experience and was accommodating organising me going to try different spots. I left feeling so much more confident and super happy, it was the ultimate surf experience! Arugam bay is a great place if you do it right. I started out my stay at a hostel and with a different surf instructor, then switched over to Arne’s place and only organised things through them. I wish I had heard about them from the start! It turned around my time in Arugam bay and I left loving the place.

The place is confortable and well located: not too close to the noisy areas, so you can sleep at night :), and close enough to walk to Main Point for surfing. But the best about Arne's place is the people, specially Haleem, the manager. He's great at his job but most importantly he's a really great guy, and a pleasure to talk to. Very happy we met him!

Kind stuff, nice breakfast, extremely nice garden, the location is close to beach and also close to themain street and good restaurants, true oasis amid the big hotels, very good organisation of safari trips or additional activities.

Beautiful place and amazingly friendly staff. The inner courtyard is perfect for chilling and we spent some time in the hanging mats just reading and relaxing. Great value for money

If you’re looking for a special place in Arugam Bay - this is it. We got welcomed so warmly by Haleem and his family/friends, they made our stay unforgettable. Rooms are cosy, it’s right by the beach and you can tell they put their heart into the place. Will come back for sure.

Location - perfect, super close to the beach and city centre, with shops and restaurants in the neighborhood, but quiet. Comfort - interior is quite rough, but it helps keeping the house clean. AC working just fine, a lot of space, with a place to sit outside. Everything you should need is there. Clean. Price - reasonable for what you get. You can order food there and have surfing lessons. Staff - nice and helpful, sometimes a bit slow. We would strongly recommend this place, we really enjoyed our stay.
