This property is absolutely spectacular and should get a five star rating. The host Marta is a beautiful person and could not do enough to help you. The attention every detail is amazing and the food that she presents with the help of family is fantastic.

Marta was a superb host. She’s totally passionate about everything she does, so much attention to detail. The room had everything we needed and her home cooking was delicious, using a lot of locally sourced produce from small producers. A total credit to her efforts. The village of Arcusa and the surrounding area are beautiful.

Tierra Buxo is the kind of place that reminds you why you travel. Tucked away in a quiet, remote corner of Arcusa, it is the only hotel in the area and honestly, it doesn’t need competition. The surrounding towns are just close enough to explore, the property itself offers something increasingly rare: genuine peace, privacy, and the chance to truly rest. On paper, Tierra Buxo is a three-star hotel. In practice, it feels like so much more. The care and attention put into every detail elevate the experience well beyond what the rating suggests. What truly sets this place apart are the hosts Martha and Alfonso. Warm, engaging, and deeply passionate about what they do, they make every stay feel personal. From arranging dinners and breakfasts to offering spot-on local recommendations, nothing feels too much. You sense immediately that this is not just a business to them, it is a labour of love. We rarely return to the same place twice. Tierra Buxo may be the exception. Highly recommended.

“Book it, you won’t regret it”

Everything. We stayed in many Hotels and AirBnBs over the years, but this is our favorite. It’s very clean, exceptional interior design, very good WiFi, every detail is 5 stars. The beds are to die for, the saltwater pool (very subtle) is perfect, luxurious products in the Bathroom and Marta and Alfonso will make your stay feel like paradise. They are so nice and decent people, everything comes from their heart. For the breakfast and dinner local products are used and you can taste it. If it wouldn’t be booked, we would have stayed our whole vacation. The village is very small, so it is super calm, but you can do a lot of thing in the region. Marta will provide you with a guide and numerous tipps.

The special attention prior and upon arrival by Marta, the owner, was exceptional. Welcome lemonade, tour of the property and sharing of personal stories, followed by a wonderful surprise dinner menu after we got to have a walk in town and enjoy the pool at sunset made the first day simply perfect! We loved how Marta also incorporates wonderful local produce into her menu and for breakfast, (apart from the delicious home made goodies!). The pool is so serene, fresh, salt water and has the perfect position to enjoy sun all day, right until the sunset! Marta also gave us great recommendations for places to visit nearby on our onward journey, though we really would have loved to simply stay at her hotel a little longer! We will definitely be back!

I LOVED it here. The owner, Marta, really makes you feel at home from the moment you arrive with a glass of home made lemonade. The hotel itself is fantastic with beautiful grounds and a pool. The room is spotless, comfortable and has a lovely bathroom and a balcony. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent (homemade madeleines and Nutella included!) and the selection of drinks in the bar area are great - the local IPA especially. Marta also let me park my motorcycle in a private area but it wasn’t really necessary as the village is so quiet and safe. This is one hotel I will most certainly return to.

Very modern hotel with only 5 rooms, incredible service, great food/ wine and views from the dining room. Marta the host is very accommodating and provided super helpful suggestions for hiking and sightseeing nearby. Rooms were very modern and very good shower.

Marta was such a lovely person and couldn't do enough for us. Such an interesting story how she built this place on the site of an old family home and uses all local ingredients and suppliers. It's such a special experience. Dinner was delicious and she even provided a laundry service and sold us bread for our walk the next day. Absolutely beautiful rooms where every detail has been thought about. Gorgeous views of the mountains from the glass dining room. Absolutely recommended.

Everything. Marta and Romain the owners were wonderful- their one aim was to give you the best possible stay. The food was incredible, breakfast bountiful and high quality. Evening meals gourmet. Lots of advice on where to visit. Hotel itself recently built from existing stone of previous building- in keeping with its surroundings- but inside very modern and beautifully designed with glass balconies. Underfloor heating/ cooling. Beautiful swimming pool. The couple had designed it themselves and had thought of everything. But the best thing about it was the owners who took such a pride in making their hotel/ home so welcoming.
