I loved the warm welcome we received from the family during our stay. The facilities were excellent with a very spacious room and a very comfortable extra large bed. Everything was spotless. We had an excellent home cooked evening meal on our second night. Elizabete is wonderful cook. She and and her family are warm, kind hosts and nothing was too much trouble. A special place to stay.

A very friendly host who made us feel at home and gave good advice about visiting the surrounding area. The accommodation was of a very good standard with all the amenities we would expect. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was well kitted out and a good size. In addition to staying we had two evening meals featuring locally sourced products and cooked in a traditional Portuguese way. The quality of the cooking was excellent.

One of the best places I have ever stayed in. The location, the comfort, the peace, but most of all the hosts Elisabete and Pedro. I was made to feel so welcome. Pedro helped me with tips and routes so that I got the maximum out of my day trips discovering the magnificent Peneda Gerês national park, and Elisabete welcomed me every morning and evening into their beautiful kitchen and cooked dish after delicious dish for us all: family, friends and guests. As a solo traveller it was so comforting to pull up a chair at the kitchen table after a day exploring to chat with others about our experiences. I really felt like part of the family. Their passion for their marvellous enterprise is inspirational. Oh, and addition of the little puppy Izzy (and big brother Levi) was the icing on the cake. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here recently for two nights. The accommodations were comfortable, super clean and well appointed. The breakfasts offered are fantastic, with delicious homemade bread, homemade yogurt, tasty coffee with warmed milk and a hostess that really enjoys feeding people and it shows! We shared the family style dinner with the other interesting guests, and again the food was plentiful, nutritious and delicious. Local wine was freely flowing as well as enjoyable conversations.

It was a great and memorable stay, my kids loved the pool and the surroundings. It was a good location to reach beautiful and not crowded lagoons. The owners gave us nice tips for things to do. Food was a plus, healthy and delicious. Elisabete took our food restrictions very seriously, so we could enjoy gluten and dairy free breakfasts and dinners. Rooms were clean and comfortable. We thank the owners for these pleasant days.

The breakfasts and dinners that we had with Elizabeth and Pedro and the other guests will fantastic. Not only the healthy Portuguese food but also the warm welcome on their kitchen table. It was as if we were already friends for a long time. Elisabeth helped us making good choices for our day trips. Super for couples and families.

We really enjoyed the peaceful countryside, the great view over the valleys as well as the really nice pool. The farm is in a perfect position to explore the sites around. But the real plus is the hospitality of the owners. We had dinner every evening sitting at the large table in the kitchen with other guests and friends of the family. The food served was outstanding, grown on the farm and healthy. This makes this place a really unique experience!

“Discovering Portugal Highlands”

First of all: Elizabeth and Pedro are lovely people who make you feel part of the family. The Quinta is a peaceful place, good to relax, and to enjoy a book. We really enjoyed sharing the table for dinner and breakfast with other guests and also Elizabeth, Pedro and their daughters, Olga and Marta. One evening we were really impressed by Mozart on a piano; we thought it was a CD but then learned it was Olga playing there. Impressive. Bravo! Also, the Quinta is not far from Arcos de Valdevez city center. And if you want to visit/travel around, talk to Pedro; he will give you detailed directions, send you links to Google Maps and also print map details. I and Margarida loved the family. And lets not forget: Leve, their lovely dog.

Exceptional place to stay at an excuisite calm location surrounded by natural beauty. The room was spacious, immaculately clean and decorated with good taste. Really pleasent place to spend time in. Also, the doors outside are full glass so you can enjoy the beautiful mountain views also from inside your room. The noise-proofing is spectacular so the room is very quiet. Also the curtains keep the light out at night well. The needed amenities, like table, chairs, electric kettle, cups, glasses, closet etc. Many electric sockets. Effective a/c. The toilet / bathroom was also very spacious and beautiful. Great shower, many towel options. You can enjoy the outdoors at the patio or swim at the beautiful outside pool. We cannot applaud enough the wonderful service and hospitality by the hosts Elisabeth and her husband. They gave us wonderful advice on nearby activities, hikes etc. They went above and beyond to give us the best stay. The breakfast was delicious, high-quality and fresh with a lot of healthy options. Elisabeth is a talented chef, who makes her own yoghurt fresh every morning. You can also enjoy her talented cooking by joining the family for dinner - she cooks her specialities taking all dietary and other requests in order. The place is just beautiful. A traditional, beautifully renovated farm surrounded by mountains. The nearby small ancient villages (such as Ponte da Barca) are worth visiting. There are good supermarkets close to the accommodation as well as beautiful vineries. The accommodation is close to Peneda-Gerês National Park with wonderful hikes and nature beauty. Elisabeth and her husband are kind, welcoming and warm people. This is also a place for animal lovers - their dog is a rescued one, now with the best home. The kindest, most loving dog you will see.
