Quiet with lovely area to sit outside our room. The owner was genuinely interested and cared about our needs. Hot water, comfy bed great food would stay again.

Owner and staff very friendly and helpful, they organised a very knowledgeable tut tut driver who took us on two half day tours at a good price Breakfast and dinner was traditional Sri Lankan and very good quality and value for money. We would definitely recommend a stay here 😁

Wonderful luxurious room in a small building within the garden. You would not know you were in a town, it is in a quiet residential area surrounded by nature. The owner was a superb cook and I did the cooking class which I fully recommend. I'd definitely stay here again, the facilities and particularly all the staff were great

Chia was the perfect hostess and an amazing cook. This is great value for money and would thoroughly recommend.

This is my third time at Yaluwa and I would recommend it highly. The hostess Chaiya is friendly and very accommodating of any dietary needs. The home cooking is delicious and though we didn't take lessons you can sign up for Sri Lankan cooking classe iif you wish. This is somewhere between a homestay and a hotel so ideal if you like that kind of thing. There are no TVs but that didn't bother us at all. The WiFi is good if you need it. Yaluwa is a good base to visit the Sacred City, Mihintale and safaris at Wilpattu. Also a convenient stop on the way to Mannar, Jaffna or Trincomalee.

“Great food”

What a lovely place to stay in a beautiful little calm village just outside the city centre. Yaluwa was really helpful in organising tours and tuk tuk drivers. And the food is sooooo good. I'd definitely stay there again if I was in the area.

“Authentic Sri Lanka home cooking”

Amazing home cooked meals, plenty of food and various options. We stayed 3 nights and ended up eating every meal here. Helpful and friendly host, who arranged tours, onwards transport and laundry for us. There is a small super market a few minutes walk for water and essentials.

The room was comfortable and had tea and coffee making facilities which suited our needs. We had a great breakfast and paid for evening meal which was a range of different Sri Lankan dishes. The transfer to the hotel was sorted by the host and yours were arranged so that pick up was directly at the accommodation. Great stay overall.

We enjoyed the cooking experience, the host was keen to let us do as much or as little of the cooking as we wanted. We opted for less actual preparation in favour of taking notes and watching the actual preparation.. We were also given a small gift of a coconut shell salt cellar. Breakfast buffet was copious.

Really nice relaxed place outside the busier city centre. But with a tuktuk you can get there very quickly. Chaya was an amazing host who arranged everything for us. Wilpattu safari, a tour to the ancient city, all or fair prices. She cooks amazing and it was very special to have dinner together with some other guests. The room was very spacious, the bed was big and comfortable, and the shower nice and warm. We loved our stay!

You’ll be so well looked after staying here. Space to yourself or time shared with guests, I had chance to book a couple of tours with other guests which was great. Hot shower, home cooked food, great hosting.

Everything, the property was so peaceful, safe and tranquil. The room was large and beautifully decorated. The owner was the best host, helping me with everything eg food, transport, activities etc. I ate breakfast and dinner there everyday and it was always amazing.
