Our experience at Sweet Home Tourist Rest was simply amazing, and we enjoyed every bit of it. The best part was the hospitality, which was simply outstanding. A particular mention must be made of Malsha, whose food was simply too good, especially the rice and curry, which was full of all the genuine flavors of Sri Lanka. It was one of the best experiences we had. The experience we had with the tours arranged by Nilukshan was simply phenomenal. The historical site tour was very informative and well-arranged, and our Wilpattu Safari experience was out of the world. The entire experience was very smoothly managed. On the whole, we had amazing hospitality, mouth-watering cuisine, and great tour organization by Sweet Home Tourist Rest. Definitely recommended, and we look forward to coming back again.

We had the absolute best time here, this homestay was the highlight of our trip! Nilu and his wife were the kindest people and helped us out with picking us up from the station & helping organise our onwards travel after our 2 nights stay. We were the only people staying so ended up having the living area completely to ourselves! We booked the Ancient City tour which was fantastic we learnt so much🙌🏻 we also booked the cooking class which we highly recommend, it was so much fun & we even learnt to eat with our hands!! Definitely get the traditional sri lankan breakfast, it was the best breakfast we’ve ever had! Nilu and his wife are fantastic cooks! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay & hope to return one day!!

“An unforgettable trip to Anuradhapura made special by a wonderful family!”

The property was clean, spacious and comfortable. We especially loved sitting on the balcony and watching the colourful birds. It was great to have access to a fridge and a living room area. The bedroom was air conditioned and the beds were comfortable. Nilu and Malsha were incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. Nilu took us to Wilpattu National Park for a full day safari and we had an unforgettable day. He was so knowledgeable and we learned so much about the park and its wildlife as well as Sri Lankan history. Malsha is a fantastic cook and served us many great meals throughout our stay which were some of the best dishes we’ve had in Sri Lanka. If you are looking for delicious food, exciting trips and warm hospitality, this is the place for you!

Everyone was really friendly and accommodating. We arrived early and were able to leave our bags and freshen up before exploring the town. The breakfast and dinner were fantastic, highly recommend. We booked a tour through the Homestay, which was great value for money. The tour guide was very friendly, well informed and we had a great day.

From the moment you arrive, the hosts make you feel very welcome. They are warm, kind, and always ready to help. The food is amazing, both breakfast and dinner are tasty and made with traditional Sri Lankan recipes. Nilukshan also organizes fun activities. He knows a lot about nature, wildlife, and culture, and his English is very good. He is also happy to give advice and help you plan the rest of your trip. We did the safari to Wilpattu with him and this was fantastic. If you get the chance to stay here, don’t miss it. This homestay is a true highlight of Sri Lanka!

Very nice family business. We felt like being home. This people take great care of their guests. The owner Nilukshan is big professional together with staff of the accomodation. They prepared the best meals and helped us to organize perfect tour in Anradhapura and Mihintale where we learnt a lot of things about local culture. Our room was very clean and spacious. At the end of our stay Nilukshan drove us to different city and told us a lot of interesting things about Sri Lanka on the way there. The whole experience was simly unforgettable. This guesthouse is run by the nicest family you can imagine. They do everything to let you enjoy your stay. The apartment was very comfortable for 5 people. Breakfast with fruit and lots of Sri Lanka snacks. We experienced the nice cooking class and they also arranged an excellent english speaking guide (Camal) for us to visit the old en new city. This stay really made our first days in Sri Lanka a great experience!

The guest room upstairs is very spacious and tidy. The balcony is a lovely place to chill out in the evening. The host’s cooking is fabulous. The property was absolutely stunning. The room was very big with enough space to keep all your belongings. We had a bathroom for ourselves and even a kitchen with a fridge to keep our drinks cold. There was even a seperate living space for us to enjoy.
