“Great host”

Harshani is a great host. She provided us with lots of helpful recommendations what to see in the area and organized a driver and bus tickets for transportation. The homestay is located in the backyard surrounded by lots of palm trees, so it’s very quiet. The room was like on the pictures, it was simple but very good for one night. We had dinner at the place and Harshani provided us some delicious Sri Lankan food :-) thanks for everything!!!

Everything. Awesome host amazing helpful. Location excellent. Just beside the main road. They have a garden and dinning place also. Most important they can communicate in english (good speaker in english). Room big. Ac perfectly working. Bathroom clean room also very clean. Even later I decided to stay one more night but room was full. So they arranged another guest house (their relative). Those person was also amazing. So new host help me to reach the location by their scooter. And also drop me in market also pick up from market and drop me in the guest house. They also serve amazing tasty breakfast and also drop me into bust stand. Best experience in srilanka. Host always take care about everything

“Fantastic”

Hospitality of the hostess was outstanding. Her kindness and help with everything we needed made our stay fantastic. The room is very comfortable. Everything was clean. The food is amazing! The cooking class was very good and we had such a nice evening together. A good location for exploring Wilpattu, Anurhadapura and Mihintale. Also the accommodation is in a nice nature environment, away from the city and the crowd. Lots of nice animals we saw when we were chilling on the porch!

“Nice to settle down for a few days”

What a lovely stay to relax for a few days. The family is really friendly and you could always go to Harshani and ask her stuff if you need something or something else. Of course I tried the cooking class as well and I can definitely recommend it! Harshani even took me to her nursery workplace. I'm still really grateful for that experience! The house is clean and ac works good. No hot water but I don't mind.

“Lovely stay with locals”

We stayed here for 2 nights during our 4 week trip in Sri Lanka. If you want to stay with locals this is the place to go. Harshani and her family were very kind to us and we enjoyed the cooking class we did together. We hope to see them again one day. Thank you for everything.

“This was the best stay during the whole 1 month vacation in Sri Lanka!!!”

I don’t have enough words to describe the whole fun, kindness and relaxation that I received during our stay. Harshani and her family definitely are the best hosts you could imagine. I didn’t feel like I was the guest - I felt like I was around my family. We had an amazing cooking class and prepared a nice meal on the first night. And on the second day we headed to seek adventures with Harshani’s husband in Wilpattu Safari park. The whole stay was very comfortable and I felt safe and taken care of. The room was nice - AC working, you have a private bathroom and single beds were very big (even 2 of us could fit on one). Nice traditional breakfast was also included - don’t be shy to explore tastes of local kitchen. Overall my experience was 100/10! I thoroughly recommend to stay at this place and be like home for a very affordable price. Thank you once again for taking such a good care of us - all the tuk tuks, all the meals, all the beers:) We really appreciate it! Wish you best luck and prosperity!

I loved so many things about my stay here. Firstly both the lady and gentleman who run this property went so out of their way to make my stay unique and so special. they gave me their number when I arrived in colombo and helped me in my journey by speaking to the bus conductor. they were stood waiting at the roadside when I arrived with their little girl which was so lovely. They gave me lots of advice about my days there and I was only going to stay for one night but ended up staying for two. The breakfast each morning was a lovely surprise with fresh fruit and a main dish. thank you to this lovely family who made my first stop in Sri Lanka a truly lovely and memorable one.

It was amazing stay at gimanhala cottage. the guest cottage is in very good location and people around are very nice and helpfull we stayed there 1 night and we liked a lot its perfect place to stay for family and for solo as well .was warm welcome by the harshani with sweet lime and the family is very friendly and sweet always asked if everything is alright and harshani so caring explain all about sri lanka and anuradhapura activities, honestly says today we been in srilanka almost 1.5 months and still we are traveling but we are still missing cottage . because the atmosphere around is awesome. Near areas small restaurants the meals were also so responsible and tasty. People are so nice, friendly and helpful. We heartily thanks to gimanhala (harshani) and family for everything. “Good but I think used to be better before Sri Lankan economic crisis”

Very sweet family. Cooks nice Sri Lankan diner. Aircon and fan in room are working well. Beds are good. Nice garden. Calm place. Breakfast was good. Room was ok!

Tries to fulfill all wishes. Best host ever. Good food as well. Helps for everything. I would definitely go there the next time.

The guesthouse was absolutely beautiful. The rooms are within a big garden, your space is very clean and cozy. The food was supergood! I could rent a bike which was also very convenient. Same distance both to the ancient City and mitihale!

“Very nice host, rooms basic”

The host mom was exceptionally friendly and cute, helped us with our plans and organized a lovely, local breakfast. Compared to other places in Anuradhapura, it’s cheap and has AC. Wifi worked well.
