“The best quiet, upscale hostel experience.”
I’ve stayed in many hostels and it’s rare to find somewhere that does everything right! I had an incredible stay here at Barbara’s Boutique Hostel - it’s a relaxed and quiet hostel, certainly not a party hostel. Location wise is perfect, a short walk from anything you’d need or want to see here in Antigua. The facilities are incredible and are meticulously cleaned and maintained throughout the day by the friendly and helpful staff - front desk is manned 24/7 which is great for security purposes and late arrivals. Beautifully maintained common areas with numerous places to sit, chat and eat including a rooftop terrace with yoga mats and kettlebells for use. The kitchen is fully stocked with herbs, spices, oils and all the equipment plus more for self catering. Breakfast is included each morning, buffet style - eggs, beans, toasts, cereals, spreads, fruits. Tea, coffee and cake are also available all day everyday. The dorms all have big lockers (byo lock), privacy curtains, bed lamp, outlet as well as a fan. Bathrooms are clean, great shower pressure with shampoo, conditioner and body wash available.

“The best hostel in town by a mile!”
Stayed for a week (one night same time last year) and it was as excellent as I remembered! Staff are friendly, great vibe, quiet but central location, fabulous well-equipped kitchen, breakfast is excellent, a small rooftop space to see the sunrise, plus all manner of seats to sit and work or relax. Wifi was good, beds are very comfortable. Definitely the best hostel in Antigua.

Probably the nicest hostel I've ever stayed in. Pricey, but the breakfast was amazing, free tea and coffee all day, cake in the afternoon, super clean, loads of nice seating areas including a really nice roof terrace, and the bed was comfortable. Oh and the showers were hot!

“The hotel exceeded my expectations in every way.”
I had a great stay here and honestly loved everything about it. The staff was incredibly friendly and always attentive to anything I needed. The rooms were very comfortable; I stayed in the female dorm and found it clean, pleasant, and well maintained. The facilities were very organized, and the atmosphere was peaceful and perfect for resting. The breakfast was delicious, and the location is very central, making it easy to get around. What impressed me the most was the bathroom—it was exceptionally spacious, spotless, and the water pressure and temperature were excellent. Everything felt very clean and well cared for. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

“Do yourself a favor and book this hostel :)”
My favorite Hostel in Guatemala! There are so many things that made my stay so enjoyable: The incredibly well equipped kitchen, the roof terrace with Yoga mats, comfortable beds with lights, fans and outlets, the cleanliness and of course the friendly and helpful staff. Barbaras Boutique truly was the perfect hostel for me!

“Perfect place to relax and feel pampered”
Everything was perfect. I loved this hostel so much that I’ll be coming back before leaving Guatemala. It feels like a cozy home and it’s carefully designed down to every detail: water and coffee are available all day, the kitchen is very well equipped, and the bathrooms are stocked with lotions and creams. The staff was extremely kind and always ready to help with anything. It may seem like a small thing, but every time they saw me they greeted me by name, which I really appreciated.

“Second time staying at the lovely hostel”
This was my second stay at Barb’s. First time was in a private room, but this time it was in a dorm, as it was just one night before catching a bus. The dorms are very comfortable with really big lockers. The share bathrooms are clean. The chill out areas are fabulous with a book swap library. I would definitely recommend both the dorm or the private, depending on your budget. Barb’s is a little more expensive than most hostels in Antigua, but well worth the money

“Wonderful place to stay and relax or as a base to explore Antigua”
Everything! The whole property is immaculate and tidy and very secure. The 24hr reception is a big plus if you need to drop your bag off early in the morning before the volcano hike. Staff were so helpful and accommodating. The included breakfast was delicious. Lots of chill out areas with hammocks, couches, and a terrace upstairs. Free coffee and tea available all day too.
