“A great base if you are touring Terceira by car.”

The location was fabulous. I was nice to be able to walk around the inside of the old fort at any time. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of variety with different choices each day.

The stay inside the fort was a unique experience. There’s plenty of space to hangout inside the fort and the pool was really nice.

Delightful stay in a historic fortress pousada. Comfortable modern room with terrace overlooking the coast. Walking distance from the city centre. Outdoor pool and well-tended grounds inside the walls. Courteous staff. Excellent dining. Very enjoyable.

“Atmospheric place”

Everything. A wonderful room at Casa do Gubernador. The fort's incredible setting. The most comfortable accommodation I had on Terceira. A successful combination of modernity and history. Delicious breakfasts and a delicious menu at the hotel restaurant. All employees very nice truly atmospheric place.

Certainly historic - there's not many properties where you can take a personal tour of the castle walls every night. The views at sunrise and sunset were pretty spectacular. The staff we spoke to were helpful. The price we paid wasn't extortionate for August. Rooms were clean and reasonably appointed.

We were ready to give this hotel a perfect 10. everything was beautiful and promising. Unfortunately, the front desk receptionist ruined the experience from the very beginning. Instead of the garden-level room with a patio and direct access to the pool that we had booked, we were given the worst room in the hotel: small, dark, and with a window facing a rooftop. This was not an innocent mistake. it was a clear attempt to double-book and profit at our expense. when we came back to point out the issue, instead of apologizing, the receptionist started humming to herself as if nothing had happened. Who behaves like that? Such unprofessional and disrespectful behavior is unacceptable. A real shame, because the rest of the hotel was lovely, but we won’t be coming back. Who knows how many times they’ve done this and gotten away with it. Stay alert.

One of the best view on the Atlantic Ocean. Ask a room with a view and you won’t regret it. The location, being a fortress, is full of charm. Absolutely amazing! Excellent service and personnel too. Restaurant very good as well. My room was spacious, quiet and clean.

We liked the location near the harbour and the center. There was also sufficient space for free parking. The staff was helpful and friendly. The room was clean.
