Large and comfortable house for a family. Excellent yard with barbecue area. The house has everything you need and is very cozy. The house is well located, there is a store, beach and you can walk to the city center. Very good owner who are ready to help.

Our host was extremely attentive and fast to respond. We appreciated all the suggestions. The house was great and roomy, as well as the outdoor area. A lot of thought was given to make it a special place. The walk to Angra is not the shortest, although delightful.

The location is very good in a calm nice street, close to Angra. The house was perfectly clean, well equiped. The beds are very comfiotable, the patio is excellent place to have a break and a glass of wine in the evening. Andre gave us all the information we asked for. We will come agai!

“Delightful property a short drive from Angra centre.”

This is a lovely, well-maintained property. The owner André was extremely kind and welcoming. We were very comfortable and particularly enjoyed the large settee, excellent kitchen and comfortable bed. The patio at the rear was pleasant and very sheltered. The laundry facilities were easy to use and detergent was available, which was very useful. We would have loved to have stayed longer.

“Perfect base for Terceira and Angra do Heroismo”

We arrived late & tired. Host met us on the curb, and was most helpful, attentive and informative. House is immaculate and interesting. Would be well suited to a family visit. (Kids will like lofty secondary beds, I guess) Comfortable all around. We loved the back patio with traditional outdoor Azorian kitchen with wood oven and cooker. Host made a bunch of good suggestions for food, etc. Not a complaint, but it's a little out of the way. We quite liked the neighborhood. Makes for a quiet pleasant stay, but not much going on in the immediate vicinity, if that's important to you. While we could have walked, we ended up driving to old Angra. (Easy parking, free parking there). Angra was our favorite town in the Azores.

We absolutely loved every second we spent at O Refúgio. One of the most beautiful and unique spaces we will ever have the pleasure and privilege to call "home." André has designed such an immaculate concept and we enjoyed every unique space and looked forward to returning each day after time spent exploring beautiful Terceira.

“Exceptional peaceful home from home.”

Exceptional property in a quiet residential area within a short stroll of the waterfront and well stocked grocery store and only 15 minutes on foot into the town centre. Nearby bus stops provide easy access to the settlements in the hills above Angra where the opportunities for walks are limitless together with the opportunity to easily access the coastal villages on the South, West and North of the Island. We particularly enjoyed the well equipped outdoor space with it's kitchen and oven providing the opportunity to catch some late afternoon sunshine with some tasty drinks and snacks. Evenings in the property spent relaxing on comfortable furnishings with access to limitless entertainment via a huge smart TV system. The bedroom is beautiful, comfortable and peaceful. Cooking facilities are of a high standard with a beautiful high quality kitchen, modern high end appliances and drawers filled with everything you would ever need. The owners have thought of everything!. The host is friendly and supportive.

“Perfect!”

O Refúgio was our last stop of our honeymoon and we couldn't end it any better. What a place! Far underpriced for the quality and space you get. The house has everything you need. The bed is also very comfortable. The host André welcomed us at check-in and gave us a lot of advices where to eat and go. Also he sended multiple messages during the days to check-up on us. Very friendly! It was a real pleasure to stay in the house. Next time we will stay a bit longer :)

O Refugio is a beautiful place located in the quiet "suburbs" of Angra, about 20 minutes on foot to the city center, 5 minutes to the swimming area, where you can also take a shuttle bus (40 cents) which takes you to the city in about 5 minutes. The place is beautifully furnished with loads of space, everything you need in the kitchen, a big living room and a great terrace with a BBQ/wood fired stove. On top of that André is a super helpful and very friendly host who arranged an airport pick-up for us, had loads of insight and suggestions and even managed to arrange a rental car for us on short notice.

First of all I would like to thank Andre for being the best host ever! He was attentive and helpful, he arranged our transfer from and to the airport, he gave us a tour of the house, explained everything, gave us tips on how to get to center, what to visit etc. The house itself was nothing short of amazing. We were flabbergasted by how great it looked, given how affordable it was. The pictures do not do it justice. It's a huge place that could easily accommodate 6 people. It was super clean and cozy with great location in the quiet part of town. The living room was spacious, with a huge TV (Andre let us use his Amazon Prime account - Thank you for that :)). The kitchen was big and equipped with all the necessary appliances. The bathroom had a huge bathtub, which I'm sure will be a big plus for people who love relaxing in a bubble bath. It also had a washing machine and a dryer which were really helpful. Worth mentioning is the backyard, which is private and well equipped, that sadly we did not get a chance to appreciate more. To conclude, O Refugio is most definitely the best place I've ever stayed at. I highly recommend it to everyone and I'm absolutely coming back here.
