This simple and pleasant guest house is set in the centre, 5 minutes’ walk from Amurrio Train Station. It offers comfortable rooms and free Wi-Fi, 30 km from Bilbao. Rooms at Hostal Ayala feature traditional decor and wooden floors. All include central heating, a TV, desk and a private bathroom. There is a shared balcony. There are various bars, restaurants and shops within 5 minutes’ walk of the property, which is set just next to the town’s main park. The Ayala is 400 metres from the town’s Licor Museum and there is a Basque Gastronomy Museum in Llodio, 10 km away. It is 30 minutes’ drive from the Gorbeia Nature Reserve, where you can find the Gujuli Waterfall. Vitoria is 40 km away.

The reception was warm and friendly and the woman went out of her way to be helpful. The accommodation makes very good use of the space, and there are very thoughtful communal areas.

Very good value for money, kind people, good room. They even let me check in in the morning despite I only needed to store my luggage and would have come back in the evening. I appreciated the small communal kitchen where you can prepare your breakfast(I do not know if it is open even in the evening as I always came back after dark, but I think so). My room faced an internal patio of the building so it was quiet, I could not hear any noise coming from the street and almost no noise coming from the other rooms. You can hear some minor noises coming from the corridors. The building has a lift(the hotel is on the 1st floor, you only have to climb a few stairs). The bed was overall comfy, maybe the pillows could be more comfortable but at this price point it is not possible to complain for personal preferences. Overall good cleaning, the bed was remade every day. Plenty of towels The room comes with flat screen tv, desk, big wardrobe and a refrigerator. It takes 45/50 minutes to reach Bilbao by train. The surrounding area is safe. I totally recommend this place and would not hesitate to come back in the future.

The host was absolutely amazing, she was so friendly and helpful, we arrived in the middle of the ‘sheep’ festival at which she was cooking in the town square, as soon as we rang when we arrived she came and sorted us out, then texted us to tell us she had food for us at the festival. The accommodation is located right in the centre of a fabulous genuine none tourist town. The accommodation was superb

“Great value stopover”
Staff here are very friendly and helpful. There is a kitchen with complimentary food and drink. Rooms are quite large, and comfortable. Overall, great value stopover.
