The location is fantastic in the middle of Amecameca. If you plan to go hiking around the Vulcanoes, this is the place to stay. Eric is super nice and also provides guided hiking tours, he drove me to the start of my hike in the morning and picked me up again in the afternoon. The accomodation is basic but clean, it offers everything you need. Nice is that they are running a gym which guests are welcome to use. I had a great time in Amecameca and will definitely come back.

Eric, the house was incredible!!! He responded very quickly to my booking and once I was at his beautiful property with great views, he gave me a ton of great and valuable information about the hikes in the area. He rented some equipment to me and drove me to the campground, so I could hike Iztaccíhuatl. His insights were extremely helpful for the hike and I had a great time staying at his place.

The location in the center of Amecameca is a convenient point for hiking in Izta. There is a private parking, there is a gym on the territory, and you can use it. Good breakfast for 100 pesos on the veranda with a panoramic view. Friendly and welcoming host. Good fast wifi with strong signal

Erik, the host knows everything about the mountains, so wether you are a pro hiker who wants to climb the peaks or just want to discover the woods around, that’s the place for you! He offers his services to take you up by car, which is very convenient if you travel with public transport. It’s worth to take his service, as walking back home through the city might be not so pleasant because of the street dogs! ;) I did that without a problem, but the dogs following, gave me a proper fright!

Erik is a great guy, he was our guide in the mountains for two days, he prepared us a tasty and big breakfast. There is a beautiful view from the terrace of the Hiker's Home on the two volcanos. If you can choose, take cabana, its a much nicer space.

“Good and friendly hostel/place to start your hiking trip”

Eric the host is a very nice and friendly person, he was very helpful and made us feel welcome. The hostel itself is very basic next to a fitness studio. It was quiet, even though it’s only a 5 min walk to the (small) town center. There is a kitchen you can use, the shower has warm water. Eric offers trips to the volcanos if you don’t want to go on your own.

Eric is sooo helpful and friendly, the house is charming and sweet, beds are comfy. We did some hiking together, equipment was good and he was a great guide!

The location was great for hiking the volcanoes. Lovely view from the balcony, and the host went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable.

Eric and his sun was so kind and nice, thay took care for everything we need and also took us to haik to see wonderful waterfall and to the pas de cortès. The place was comfortable, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The view was wonderful!
