Hotel Au Charme Rabelaisien is a charming 18th-century hotel nestled in the historical heart of the city of Amboise. Make sure you also take the time to relax in the heated, outdoor swimming pool or on the sun terrace. “A great base to explore Amboise if you pick the right room”
Excellent location, very nice pool and outside garden area for sitting with a drink, very handy parking which is tricky in old towns like Amboise and staff were helpful. The bathroom was very good with a walk in shower and seperate toilet and the room on the second floor had direct lift access. The visit to Clos de Luce, Leonardo da Vinci final home was a highlight with models of many of his inventions set in lovely grounds and the Chateau is also interesting

We were greeted every morning with the happiest "Good Morning! How was your sleep? Where would you like to sit in the garden for breakfast?" We enjoyed glorious sleep, delicious breakfasts with excellent service and were able to walk or cycle to all locations in and around Amboise. The staff was particularly accommodating when we arrived quite early before check in and made it possible for us to get to our bike rental and tour the chateaux on schedule.

Very attentive, friendly staff (also owner present and doing some work in the garden) Very quite garden area (we had a garden room) Comfortable beds While the building and furniture are a bit dated it is all very well maintained and clean thus not a problem at all

“A gem of a hotel, perfectly located in Amboise.”
This is a fantastic hotel. Perfectly located in the centre of Amboise but with the sweetest garden to sit in and a small swimming pool. The staff we very helpful and lovely. Room was very well appointed and breakfast was perfect. The staff helped us find a great restaurant. A gem.

“A lovely overnight stop in Amboise”
This pretty and peaceful property is nicely tucked away in town just a few minutes walk from the Chateau and town's main restaurant area. Our room was spacious and well equipped with a large comfortable bed and good sized en-suite. We also had a beautiful view of the Chateau from our window. The staff were all wonderful - very helpful and friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. We just wish we could have stayed longer!

So close to town. Very comfortable room overlooking the garden. Plenty of space . Nice garden & pool to relax in after full day. Easy parking.
