“DISAPPOINTING”

THE ROOMS WERE IN THE ATTIC, UP 49 STEPS WHICH WERE NARROW WITH LOW BEANS. THE BATHROOM FACILITIES WERE OUT OF DATE, NO PROPER SHOWER BUT A HAND HELD ONE THAT WENT WERE IT WANTED. THE RESTAURANT WAS WELL SERVICED BUT THE FOOD WAS NOT TO THE STANDARD FOR THE PRICE CHARGED.

The staff was very professional and nice, and our stay was ok though overpriced, and we felt a bit The facilities were pretty old, and both facilities and the garden looked different from the very nice pictures we saw in booking.com and in the hotel’s website. They were either staged or taken in the past. Later we found out that the hotel will be in works next year which is definitely needed. However we would have liked to know this before booking and we would have probably felt better about it.

Staff & food was eceptional

We love this hotel, it’s quiet and unpretentious but with an amazing restaurant, great size family room and walking distance to the sights in Amboise.

The property is very « dated » - poor or rather zero amenities in the bathrooms - the latter being small and cramped; bathroom fixtures really old and outdated . Zero tea/ coffee facilities in the room . Absurdly long passageways and staircases - so beware of you have luggage although the staff will help if required.

The Hotel was just as expected. Our room was in the main house and very quite despite facing the road on the banks of the Loire river. The room was spacious and quite, the walls of the room were dressed with a very nice printed fabrics, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom well appointed and clean. In the morning we had a very nice and complete breakfast; nothing was missing except the sun which prevented us having our breakfast outside. The staff is very friendly. Not to forget: safe closed parking to leave your car for the night.

We've stayed here several times before mainly because of the lovely setting & great restaurant. It's also conveniently located - a short walk into Amboise to see all the sites.

Location is excellent and being able to park so close to the centre of town is great. Breakfast was excellent as were the staff, all of whom were very attentive, friendly and professional.

Great location. Easy check in and check out. Room itself lovely, bathroom tired and needs upgrading but clean, and cleaned daily. Outside space nice to have.

We loved our stay at Hôtel Le Choiseul. The room was beautifully furnished and decorated and had a stunning view over the Loire River. The decor is getting a bit old and the house itself is old but fabulous. Not a 5 star hotel, but still a wonderful place to stay! The staff were very accommodating and informative. We ate in the restaurant one of the nights and the food was very good. A short stroll into Amboise and very close to the Chateau. One of the day's the sun came out and we took the opportunity to have a swim (I'm sure other guests probably thought we were mad, but we are from NZ we're used to cold water!!). After looking at several of the towns in the Loire, I think Amboise is the best place to stay.
