Overview
A 10-minute walk from Amboise Castle, this bed and breakfast is set in an original, 15th-century quarry and is carved out of the rock. It features a heated swimming pool in a traditional, underground cave. You can browse the free Wi-Fi or admire the Loire Valley from the garden. The rooms at Chambres d'Hôtes Troglodytes Le Clos de L'Hermitage have exposed-stone walls and parquet flooring. Each one is decorated in a contemporary style and some have a spa bath or hydro-massage shower. A continental breakfast is served every morning in the B&B’s breakfast room. During the warmer months, you can enjoy the terrace and admire the flowered garden. Free public parking is available on site. Château de Chenonceau is 16 km away and just a 15-minute drive to Château de Loches.

Location was great Breakfast was basic continental, could do with adding ham and eggs Kristof was very nice, the hotel is a self build project which he has transformed into a fabulous dwelling, highly unusual and we loved it

A unique experience sleeping in a cave hotel. The owner was very welcoming and informative. The pool was a bonus and very different being located within the cave. Plenty of parking close by, and an easy walk into the town centre

“Staying in a cave. What’s not to like!”
Such an interesting space. Really quirky really amazing. So special, we love the cat! Having a beautiful Spa bath as part of the suite was a real treat. I own private space for drinks in the evening outside your room in the garden was lovely. Some lovely local wines to buy were on offer.

“Fascinating place”
Such an interesting building with a lovely garden to sit in and have a drink. The pool was a very welcome addition on a hot day. We slept amazingly well in the cocoon-like room. Help yourself to drinks and a lovely breakfast. Couldn't ask for much more.

The owner was exceptionally pleasant and spoke a little English and explained about how the caves were formed when we arrived. It was a fantastic setting, and the main town was about a 10-minute walk from the caves where there are a lot of nice restaurants. In the morning between 8 and 9 am, breakfast is served. It was an incredibly nice stay, and would definitely recommend it.

The ambience of hotel and friendliness and professionalism of the staff. The location was perfectly situated in Amboise. Our room was amazing-perrfect.
