“Quiet and calming.”

Fantastic stay at this property. So relaxing. The walk to pacha mamma and pacha tata is tough with the altitude- just take it slowly. Lots of really tasty food and lovely opportunity to talk to the family. Despite a cold night we were lovely and warm under all the blankets and a hot water bottle. Highly recommended.

Lovely, clean home with great food. The family were lovely and always around if we needed anything! Would recommend 2 nights as we were able to fully relax on the second day.

Richard’s family is so kind and welcoming, a wonderful stay!

Richar and his family were gracious hosts and made my experience in Amantani incredible! This lovely family took the time to hike up a hill to Pachamama to show us a sacred site on the island and to enjoy unforgettable views of the sunset together. They patiently answered all of my and my fellow travelers' questions about daily life on the island, and they accompanied us to a welcome celebration for tourists where we were invited to wear traditional dress and dance together. They also prepared delicious meals for guests, like quinoa soup and fish with quinoa and veggies. The family showed me all around their garden and introduced me to their animals, like cuy and sheep. I felt so safe and comfortable staying at Richard's house, and I slept very well in the cozy beds with lots of layers of blankets. Richar's family helped my fellow guests and I safely reach the port to board our boat in time and helped me quite a bit with bringing my luggage to the port. I highly recommend for all travelers who wish to stay in a beautiful island immersed in nature with a kind, thoughtful family who generously shares their culture with guests ☺️

“A unique cultural experience or/and an island retreat”

We felt the hospitality of Richar's family from the moment we arrived on the island till we said our goodbyes at the dock. The room was very clean, overlooking the island slope. The facilities are basic but functional and are maintained excellently. There's also a terrace to enjoy the view from the outside. All meals provided, lunch, dinner, and breakfast were excellent and served in a nicely decorated dining room. Lunch and dinner were traditional choices of quinoa/corn soup and cheese + vegetables/pasta second course, all with local ingredients. The pancake breakfast was more of a Western style and filling for the day.. Everything is very quiet on the island, even the roosters were heard only from outside. We had a chance to observe daily island life, see people going about their chores while wearing traditional clothes, watch the sunset from the highest point, and learn a bit about local beliefs and traditions. We attended the evening fiesta that was arranged for tourists. However, it mimics all the features, such as music, clothes, and dances, of authentic island celebrations. Knowing some Spanish will significantly help enrich your island experience.

Richar and his family are so warm and welcoming. They told us about life on the island and showed us where we could go for the most beautiful walks. Food was great and bed was comfortable and warm with view over the lake and sunrise. We stayed two nights and I highly recommend this!

Luciana and her daughter Diana made me feel home. The house is beautiful, located in a very quiet and relaxing area of the island. Luciana is an excellent chef. She cooked me dinner, lunch and breakfast with the products she grows herself in her garden. I was able to rest in a very relaxing environment. I saw the most beautiful sunrise and the clearest night sky from my bed. Luciana walked me to the way to the Pachamama ceremonial place to make sure I didn’t miss the sunset. I miss her already. Thank you for so so much.

Our room had an amazing view of the lake and the bed was so comfy! There were also two very sweet kittens at the house!

Beautiful views over Lake Titicaca right out of bed, clean and I even got a hot water bottle for my bed. The Family is absolutely lovely, cooked amazing Lunch and Dinner for me and Diana Isabella showed me how to hike to Pachamama and Pachatata. In addition to being very welcoming they also helped me with the transport. 100% recommend!

His and his family's hospitality was amazing. I fully enjoyed my stay here including the dishes they prepared and we danced together. In addition he took me to the top of pacha mama that is the highest point of Amantani. Thank you for the unforgettable experience.

“Unique and homely stay on a beautiful island”

Lucretia (Richar’s wife) and their daughter Diana Isabella welcomed us warmly and looked after us so attentively. The room had a wonderful view of the lake and a terrace with deckchairs for relaxing. The food (cooked by the hosts) was fantastic - we ate dinner together and practised our Spanish! Diana Isabella accompanied us to Pachatata/Pachamama and Lucretia accompanied us (in the rain!) to the port when we sadly had to leave. Outstanding hospitality and a truly special place to stay on Amantani.
