Located off Interstate 80, the newly-renovated Quality Inn & Suites Altoona - Des Moines is located just minutes from Adventureland Amusement Park and Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino, which offers a free shuttle to the hotel. This interior corridor hotel is also convenient to Des Moines area attractions like the Wells Fargo Arena and the Iowa State Fairgrounds, home to one of the most popular state fairs in the nation. I cannot express enough gratitude to the management of this hotel, especially Corey, for their kindness and understanding. Due to unexpected circumstances, I found myself in a difficult situation that could have prevented me from staying, but the team went above and beyond to assess everything carefully and accommodate me. Their compassion and willingness to help truly made all the difference, turning what could have been a stressful experience into one of comfort and relief. Exceptional service like this is rare, and I deeply appreciate their thoughtfulness. Thank you again!

Quiet room...Bed was comfortable, shower was relaxing.. very basic, but was just what was needed

“Our stay could easily have been very nice, but it wasn't.”
"Oh, we've been having trouble with that room." and "Ah, yes, I think I have been here before." These were the replies of 2 different front desk staff when I reported my hour-before-departure discovery that the shower did not work. I asked for the manager to give me a call and now it is 6 days later, but no call. Why would you put us in a room with a known problem?

“Close to highway, plenty of chain restaurants nearby.”
Attempt to add money to our charges just in case we damaged something. Didn’t ask this of the four women ahead of us. We’re in our 60’s and not rowdy. Room had chair that was really stained (or dirt). TV system down. Zero attempt to clear snow from sidewalks and parking lot. Next morning a sheet of ice. Very unsafe and disappointing for a nationwide chain. And loud music from pool area.
