“Great local family owned pousada / hostel”

This Pousada/Hostel is owned and run by a local family. Sandra is a lovely and very knowledgeable host! All staff are super friendly and help with any questions. The hostel is a mix of dormitories and private rooms. It is easy to connect with other guests if you wish - in particular if you book day trips via the hostel. Breakfast in the morning is great with a fresh tapioca and scrambled eggs. We love the casual atmosphere of this place where you can also chill in the hammocks in the garden. We have been at this place already 10 years ago and for sure would decide for it again when visiting Alter do Chão.

The location is good, close to where some of the tours leave and only a few blocks from the main square. Breakfast was nice too.

“Nice place in Alter”

It is located in a calm area but just 50 m from one of the beaches and a short walk to the centre. The younger staff was very kind. The breakfast is very good.

My experience at Pousada and Hostel Tapajós, was quite satisfactory. From the beginning, I was received with hospitality and cordiality by the team. The included breakfast was a highlight, offering a variety of delicious options that provided a great start to days exploring the region. The quality of the food and the attention to detail by the inn staff were remarkable. The presence of good quality Wi-Fi was an important differentiator, especially for those who need to combine work and leisure during their stay. The reliable connection allowed for a smooth experience for those who needed to be connected. The shared space of the inn was another positive point. Spacious and well organized, it provided a welcoming environment for social interactions between guests, creating a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The location close to the city's tourist center was convenient, facilitating access to points of interest and ensuring a more complete experience of Alter do Chão.

“Great stay near cajueiro beach”

Nice quiet hostel in the centre of Alter do Chao, 2 min walking from the Cajueiro beach. Breakfast was provided.

“Relaxed getaway”

The location was perfect. Very quiet but close to everything. You have a lovely area to chill out outside. Kitchen area and free drinking water. Fans and AC in the dorm. Staff was lovely!

Despite language issues the staff were extremely helpful, the rooms and beds excellent and the breakfast top notch.

the location is amazing, right next to the beach. it’s also quiet and peaceful with a lovely garden. the staff were kind and helpful, and the room was comfortable

“Relaxing near nature”

Comfortable and clean rooms with beautiful garden (with hammocks) and excellent location. I stayed in a private room with toilet - simple but very clean, comfortable, safe and in good condition. Near the centre of the village and just by a beautiful beach. Very helpful staff. Excellent value for money.

The beds were super comfy, the location was great - the beach is literally 2 minutes away and there is a superb place to watch the sunset nearby. Great breakfast as well

“We will be back!”

Simple but good breakfast with fresh fruit, juices, decent coffee and tapioca/eggs made to order. Family run, helpful owners and would definitely return. Excellent location and a short and safe walk into the centre.
