This is a small family based hostel on only 2,5 KM from Altagracia. Surrounded by nature and close to Ogo de Agua, Altagracia, Vulcano Conseption and many more. Guest can enjoy the on-site bar. There is a 24-hour front desk at the property. Hospedaje La Peñita offers plate service on site, according the menu of the day. Special meals may be requested. “Fantastic stay in a great location, with nice food”
We absolutely loved the welcome Mark and Lisette gave us. The location was fantastic and breakfast and supper is really good. Mark gave us a Salsa workshop, which we really liked. They really did their best to make your stay unique. It is also very nice that you can rent a scooter right from the hostel.

“We enjoyed the clean comfortable family environment.”
The food was fresh and delicious at a good price. We watched the hosts roast and grind the coffee fresh and it tasted wonderful. The host family and their pets were all friendly. The rooms were very clean and the bathroom situation adequate. They can communicate with customers in English, Spanish, Dutch, and German!

We felt super welcomed and enjoyed our stay very much. Breakfast and dinner were amazing and we are glad we decided to stay at la penita.

“amazing family, amazing value, 10/10 must stay.”
Lizz was SO nice and so so helpful. she helped us organise ATVs and scooters, gave us helpful tips and maps of the island. the day we left she made sure we got on the public bus ok. Lizz’ mama was amazing too and cooked all our meals , they were absolutely delicious and everyone ate together which made it feel like a home away from home. we stayed here because of the reviews and we’d recommend it to anyone! Beautiful local family who are very kind and working very hard to run a amazing hostel. THANK YOU for having us :)

“Wonderful place to stay”
I had a wonderful time at LA Peñita. Lizzeth and her family are wonderful. I felt safe and welcomed. If you're looking for fancy hotel with pool this is the wrong place. If you're looking for a warm welcome and a wonderful Nica Family with great local food this is your place! I will definitely come back again. They organized a tour guide for me, they offer vegetarian or vegan food if you let them know. They are easy to communicate with. Muchas gracias por todo Hasta otra vez
