Overview
Located in the centre of Alpbach, Das kleine, feine SONNWEND offers a summer terrace and modern rooms and apartments with balcony and mountain views. WiFi access and parking are available free of charge. The rooms, apartments and studios are furnished in bright spruce wood. Each has a private bathroom, a fridge and a laptop safe. Some of the rooms have separate bedrooms and some have a kitchen as well. A rich breakfast buffet with fresh bread, fruit salad and various egg dishes is offered every morning and can also be enjoyed on the terrace. There is an honesty bar available where fresh drinks, alcoholic drinks, coffee and snacks can be enjoyed all day. The bus stop, ski schools, a ski rental, shops and restaurants are very close. A bike rental store is located next door. The free ski bus takes you to a ski area and nearby villages. Many hiking trails are nearby. The Alpbachtal Card is included in the rate. This card offers many free benefits, activities and discounts in every season, including free use of local cable cars in summer, free access to a bathing lake 7 km away and to other public baths. Free use of local buses throughout the year is also included in the card. The hotel team is happy to provide tips on hiking tours, excursions and events in the area.

“Wonderful”
Absolutely everything. We have travelled the world and never stay in the same place twice - except for Sonnwend Alpbach. The owners are wonderful, the staff very happy and helpful. The property is immaculately clean, with thoughtful touches like tea and coffee available anytime. Sonnwend is located right in the heart of town with views to the mountains. Breakfast is the best of anywhere we have ever stayed. Thank you Gitta and Sophie for having us once again after 6 years .

The room was very cosy. It was super clean and had everything you could want in a relatively small space. We had a lovely view out to the mountains and it was only a 2 minute walk to the centre of Alpbach. Charming host.

“A perfect place to come back to after a day on the slopes and to set you up for the next one!”
Sonnwend was beautiful and clean and spacious and light and airy but both warm in temperature (we were there for skiing) and in the reception of the hotel team who were so friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious, with such a varied, colourful, plentiful selection of continental items, with lots of healthy options too, and cooked breakfast on offer too. Ski room was easy to access and ski bus just a little 2min walk up behind the hotel. Would definitely stay there again.

A wonderful find - warm, comfortable, welcoming and the breakfasts were out of this world. Gitty and her team are wonderful hosts and after a day on the slopes, it felt like coming home to a warm, comfortable room with plenty of hot water and a lovely view.

“Wonderful accommodation, and welcoming hosts”
We had a wonderful stay at house SONNWEND. The rooms were high quality - comfy, cosy, clean and large. Wifi worked perfectly. The breakfast was amazing, with fresh fruit, waffles, eggs, fresh coffee & loads more. The owners were incredibly friendly & accommodating. It was situated a few minutes walk to the ski rentals, ski buses, restaurants and bars. With mountain views.

The property is centrally located in Alpbach village, the property has great facilities such as a ski boot room, great breakfast and nothing is too much trouble for the hosts, and our room was spacious with a small balcony

“After six years, I have a wonderful vacation in Alpbach again!”
The hotel is in a good location and the bus station (Alpbach Böglerhof) is only a 3-minute walk away. Chiefs Sophie and Gitti are very kind and considerate. Breakfast is nutritious, delicious and exquisite. They also suggest me to take some foods for lunch. Sophie gives me a list of excursion destinations in bad weather, which is very helpful me for to plan excursions according to the weather. When I want to extend my stay, they arrange a nice apartment with a garden for me. I spent several days hiking around Alpbach and the landscape in Alpbachtal is beautiful and unforgettable. I will come back in the near future. Thank you very much, Sophie and Gitti!

“No regrets. Loved it.”
This place is really good value. It’s not five star in one sense (top hotels), but for a mountain chalet guest house it was perfect. Excellent breakfast. Good service throughout. The downstairs studio we had was spacious but had parked cars (including ours) right outside. But in the first week of August it wasn’t noisy. Very much on the main street with no grounds, but worked really well for us.
