Audrey is an exceptional host. She is so friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Audrey was there to meet everyone at breakfast every day we stayed. It's all the little touches that makes you feel at home. Breakfast cooked by her son was lovely. I would highly recommend this B&B.

Very clean and homely. There were lots of information telling you about the area, recommendations for evening meals. This property was in a fantastic location to the town centre , walking distance to some local restaurants and bars.

“Beautiful accommodation and a charming host”

Greycroft is a beautiful B&B. The owner of the accommodation is a charming, witty and humorous lady who genuinely cares about her guests' experience. Our room, Number 2 (the red room) was absolutely beautiful and beyond our expectations. It's very spacious, with lovely William Morris wallpaper, excellent quality furniture and a comfortable bed. The bathroom is roomy, modern and immaculate. We enjoyed the nice touches in the B&B, including the generous coffee and tea tray with lovely biscuits. There's also a tray at the bottom of the stairs with bottles of port, sherry and mead, and little glasses so guests enjoy a tipple either in the garden or their room. Breakfast is also delicious and filling, using quality ingredients. We had the Northumberland breakfast both days, but there are other nice options like eggs Benedict on the menu. The cook doesn't mind at all if you want to substitute items in your breakfast. Greycroft is perfectly located beside the town centre in a peaceful neighbourhood. There's parking for guests right outside the accommodation. We thoroughly recommend Greycroft B&B and congratulate our host Audrey for making our stay so perfect.

“Excellent place tocstay”

The property is a beautiful old building, which has been restored extremely well and is of a very high standard and kept spotlessly clean. We stayed in the green room (No3), which was a big room and beautifully decorated. The location was excellent for exploring Alnwick. Audrey is a wonderful host, offering lots of information about what Alnwick has to offer. She goes the extra mile, with lots of extra touches like complimentary mead, port, and sherry, and ensures you don't run low on tea, coffee, and milk for your room. Breakfast selection is plentiful. You can start with yoghurt, fruit, and cereals and then follow it with a fantastic hot breakfast, which Tom cooks up. There is a wide selection of choices on the hot breakfast menu. We stayed for three nights, so I tried a different hot breakfast each morning, all of which were very, very good. If we returned to Alnwick, I wouldn't hesitate to stay at The Greycroft again and would highly recommend it to anyone.

We loved the staff - we were greeted with a very friendly welcome and shown around and to our room, which was very comfy and a reasonable size. Breakfast was very good and set us up for the day. We had good access to the town and the staff recommended a good place to eat for the evening. Car parking was easy enough, but I don't know whether there was enough space for anyone else - perhaps we got lucky...

Everything, it's a lovely old building, beautifully decorated, we had a good size twin room, which was spotlessly clean and contained everything we could possibly need. The breakfast was delicious, plenty of choice and freshly cooked with high quality ingredients. The hotel is very well positioned, about 5 minutes walk from the centre of Alnwick.

“Fabulous”

Great location for wandering into Alnwick and easy to get to other fab places in Northumberland. We had Room 6, the twin room, beds really comfy and so quiet. Made to feel extremely welcome.

Audrey was very welcoming and friendly when we arrived and was flexible about our arrival time. She went through the arrangements for breakfast and the amenities clearly. The room was comfortable, clean and well maintained and the bathroom well stocked with soaps and other toiletries. The breakfast was cooked to order and delicious - with plenty of variety. We had a very good stay and would definitely return if we visited the area again.

“Fantastic property, great location, amazing staff”

Fantastic homely property situated within walking distance to the high street but within a quiet side road. On arrival we found there was plenty of parking directly outside. We were warmly greeted by Audrey who was as welcoming as the house. The room (Rm 5) was lovely, spacious, well equipped with a large comfy bed and lots of light. Standouts - Location, great breakfast choices, excellent room. Cleanliness was first rate with fresh towels and cleaning service daily. Audrey, the host was amazing and made sure we had everything we needed, nothing was any trouble. Although listed as a B and B the service was on par with a hotel, highly recommend and thank you for a lovely visit.

“Excellent in every way”

I loved the beautiful building, full of character and charm. Audrey was delightful, friendly and fun and so welcoming and warm. Tom was also friendly as were the breakfast staff. Breakfast was exceptional, a wide choice of high quality products cooked well and served hot. I had scrambled eggs & salmon one morning and boiled eggs with soldiers the next. Both mornings I had delicious muesli, fruit with greek yoghurt & honey, juice & tea. The location is ideal, we caught local buses to Alnmouth & Warkworth & enjoyed the bookshop in Alnwick & the pubs and restaurants were fab.

Audrey is a very welcoming host. Tom provides an excellent cooked breakfast. Located within east walking distance of Alnwick Garden, the Playhouse theatre and Barter Books.

A warm and friendly welcome from our Host in this beautiful house! We enjoyed the wonderful breakfasts, the comfortable rooms, the lovely garden and all the extra little touches provided. Perfect weather and a great base from which to explore the coastal area. Our Host gave us lots of information before we arrived and whilst we were there which was much appreciated and helped us fully explore the area. Would definitely recommend.
