Perfect location for visit to Alnwick Castle, and the short drive to Bamburgh & Dunstanburgh Castles. Apartment was clean, spacious & beautifully decorated. Cooking facilities really helped us. Smart TV’s in both bedroom & living room. Lynn was a fantastic host. Alnwick is a lovely town to visit & there is nowhere closer to the castle than this apartment. We would definitely return on our next visit.

We loved the warm welcome from Lynn who was there to greet us & provide tips on the area. The location was perfect with close proximity to restaurants, pubs and shops and just across the road from Alnwick Castle. The apartment was spotlessly clean, very well appointed with quality fixtures and fittings throughout. We loved the warm and cozy ambience, particularly on the chilly days/nights. The welcome hamper was fantastic which meant we did not need to rush off to the shops for the basics. The photos to the apartment on Booking.com are 100% accurate. Parking permits provided were a welcome bonus. We would highly recommend this property and would definitely return.

The location was excellent, next to the castle. The apartment had a lovely atmospheric feel to it. Very comfortable and relaxing eg the bed had great bed linen and ensured a good nights sleep. We were fortunate enough to meet the owner at the premises and what a considerate and friendly person. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this property.

The view of the castle is lovely and the proximity to the town was fantastic. With bars, restaurants and shops just around the corner. The welcome pack was amazing with fresh scones, wine, milk etc etc

The property was within easy walking distance of the town and had the fabulous view of the castle. Beautifully decorated and spacious. Kitchen was fully equipped and the bedroom was stunning with an unbelievably comfortable bed! There was a folder in the living room packed full of information which we found so useful. Parking outside was easy and we were pleasantly surprised to find that we had use of a parking permit.

The apartment was exactly as described - clean, comfortable, fully equipped and very well presented. It offered a splendid view of the castle from the lounge and was within easy walking distance of the shops, restaurants etc. Check-in was straightforward, as was parking, due to the detailed instructions which we received beforehand.

“Excellent flat in very interesting town”

Very comfortable and well-appointed flat, with modern kitchen and shower-room. Very clean and well decorated. Host messaged to check we were alright and left us some very nice goodies to eat and drink. Flat directly outside the entrance to Alnwick Castle, which was interesting. Alnwick is an interesting small town and the Castle and castle gardens are well worth a visit. Fabulous countryside around and interesting places to visit. Recommend Cragside if you like history and engineering and gardens. Residents' parking permit provided which worked well.

Everything was perfect for our short break at Castle Retreat. Location was great for a short walk into town, plenty of good restaurants and pubs. Lynn was so helpful and a lovely tray of treats for us upon arrival. Will definitely be back.

An immaculate property in probably the best location in Alnwick directly opposite the castle entrance with easy parking and a short walk to restaurants and bars . There are lots of things to do in the area and public transport to Newcastle and Berwick as well as the fishing villages on the coast, I extended my stay as I enjoyed it so much. The welcome pack from the owner was much appreciated and the very comprehensive guide to the area was a bonus as it saved a lot of research .
