My husband and I stayed at this apartment from the 20th to the 27th. Our flight landed at 2:30am and we didn’t arrive until around 3:30 am. Aigul stayed up to make sure we got into the apartment safely. That was above and beyond what we expected. Sorry you had to stay up Aigul. The apartment was very clean when we arrived and she had left a complimentary two gallon jug of drinking water as well as some local chocolate, tea, and coffee. We wanted to do laundry on our second day but couldn’t find detergent. When we asked Aigul about it she bought one for us so we could do laundry. In addition to Aigul being a great host the location is excellent. You are a few blocks from a metro station and bus stops. The apartment is along Abai Street which is one of the main thoroughfares in Almaty. There are several excellent restaurants near by as well as a bakeries, pharmacies, and several small grocery stores if you wish to cook at home. We would recommend Navat and Bauyrdaq, both of which are traditional Kazakh restaurants that have very reasonable prices. We actually weren’t able to complete all of our business in Almaty during this stay and decided to come back early from Oral. Aigul was able to set us up with another apartment she owns that was just as if not more lovely. We would definitely recommend staying here if you decide to visit Almaty.
